Which spelling: Mikayla or Michaela

I’m not expecting a kid, but I would like to know if you prefer the spelling [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] or [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f], and why.

Oh gosh, [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] by a mile! It is the original spelling and looks like a real, respectable name, while [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f]/McKaylah/[name_f]Mackayla[/name_f] etc. all look very downmarket, like someone didn’t know how to spell it or is trying to be kre8iv.

I like [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] because I like the nn [name_u]Mika[/name_u]

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f], definitely!

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f] for sure.

I’m no fan of “funky” spellings. Too contrived for my liking.

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f]! This was always a contender for my three girls but I couldn’t commit to it as a first name (finally the middle name of daughter three). It was the eighty-five different spellings that kept it out of the first spot. The ONLY other spelling I like is without the h ([name_f]Micaela[/name_f]) because when I took Spanish in HS…this was my name (prn Me ky A la…which I love).

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f], definitely!! You could still nickname her “[name_u]Mika[/name_u]” regardless.

I am not a fan of the name at all, but I definitely, definitely prefer the original spelling, for the same reasons PPs have mentioned.

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f] also!!

I only like the name when spelled [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]. All the other spellings just ruin it, imo. The worst of the alternative spellings are the McKaylas, though.

Definitely Micahela.

I much prefer the spelling [name_f]Michaela[/name_f].

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f]!!!
I’m not a fan of the trendy spellings.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] saying, my name is [name_f]Mikaela[/name_f] and I prefer that spelling over anything. Theres no would who pronounces my name [name_u]Michael[/name_u]-a, and its not a silly, ridiculous spelling

[name_f]Michaela[/name_f]!!!
In my opinion, there are two many mikaela/makenzi/mckennas out there with kre8tiv spellings. If you are going with one of these names, at leest go with the real spelling. michaela is pretty.

I have always loved the sound of [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]/[name_f]Mikayla[/name_f]/[name_f]Mckayla[/name_f] but I really dislike the the more trendy spellings. [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] looks like she would be a lovely, upstanding figure while [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] just looks juvenile to me. If you’re thinking of using [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] just for a more “unique” spelling your plan may backfire since there are a lot of women/girls with some variation of this spelling whereas I have never met anyone named [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] before. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps
