Which spelling?

Me and hubby are thinking of calling our baby girl

Aylah (pronounced ay-lah) but which is the best spelling to go for?

Aylah
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
Aila
Aayla

We want it to be pronounced properly but which of the above looks best?

Also does anyone have any nice middle names that would go with this name? We like rose but can’t use it as our other daughter has rose for a middle name.

Thanks!!

I like Aila. I’m not a “y” person though, as I dislike many of the names that had a “y” for “i” substitution to make them unique.

Aila [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] gives you another flower middle name, which I like.

My first instinct was [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], but Aila seems like a unique but straight forward spelling. Also seems more dainty. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!!

As for a middle name, my friend’s daughter is named [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] which I’ve always thought is very sweet. Other good ones could be Aila [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], Aila [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], Aila [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]…just some shots in the dark! Something whimsical and timeless,

Best of luck

I know an [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] (spelled this way). I think [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is the most straight forward spelling and the most known.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]/[name_f]Junie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Verdie[/name_f]

I’d stick with [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], since it is the most common spelling that I know of. Aila I dislike because it looks like the word Ail, and reminds me of someone who is sick and ailing/has ailments.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] are great, Lovemysweeties already mentioned these
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Shae[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] hazel
ayla mae
ayla lucie

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is lovely. The other spellings are all a bit awkward/confusing, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]

Out of your options, I’d go for [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]. I personally love Aella, which is pronounced the way you want, but that would probably cause a few more problems. As for middles maybe:

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]/[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

Sorry, I’m not very good at combos.

I like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] best. My first thought with the spelling “Aila” is to pronounce it EYE-lah, but I might be crazy.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u]

I prefer the [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] spelling. Where I work, there is a girl names [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] but spelled [name_f]Eila[/name_f].

Middles-

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]

I really like Aila, is seems straight forward and very delicate. [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] would probably be my second pick of the options.

I like the [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] spelling.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]! It’s adorable.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

Growing up I went to school with a girl named [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], with that spelling, and there were never any issues with how to pronounce her name. I think that [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] and Aylah are the best choices. Aayla makes me unsure how to say it and Aila seems misspelled to me, I also might accidentally say aleah because I visually want to switch the i and the l.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] for sure!

I love the standard [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] spelling.

Another vote for [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] for sure! I had a friend in college named [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] and that’s the way she spelled it.

Sorry for any repeats…
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]Whitney[/name_u]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]

Aylah (pronounced ay-lah) but which is the best spelling to go for?

Aylah
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
Aila
Aayla

The fact that you wrote Aylah as the initial, tells me that you should go with that one since that is where you brain is going. With that being said…I like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], I am a “y” person. But, I agree that Aila is unique and sweet. So, my official vote would be Aila.

As for middle name. If you like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], go for it. There is no reason that your two daughters can’t have the same middle name. In fact, it is kind of sweet, especially if there is a family connection to [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

Definitely [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]!
