Which spelling?

Esmer-aye is the the easiest way for me to explain the pronunciation and hopefully everyone be able to get it right. We like this as a middle name. I personally like Esmerée the best but have been told Esmerae is better. Also open to spelling suggestions.

Esmerée is the sleek, feminine, classic, and correct way. Esmerae looks like a trendy “I want my child to have a different and special name” version of [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. [name_u]Rae[/name_u] makes it look clunky and strange. Go with Esmerée!

If it’s for a middle name, go with the spelling you love. Hardly anyone will ever need to spell her middle name. In all my life, I think only my parents and myself have ever spelled out my middle name. It’s just not something that people need to be able to spell or pronounce for that matter. The only times middle names come up is on official documents (that are either already filled out, or that you fill our yourself) and in discussion. No one’s ever asked me how to spell my middle name.

I prefer Esmerée as well.

Of these two, Esmerée, but I’m more familiar with the Turkish [name_f]Esmeray[/name_f], which seems quite straightforward?

Good luck!
