Posy, Posey, or Posie and why?
[name_f]Posie[/name_f], because (to me) it looks the most like a name. [name_f]Posy[/name_f] looks like it rhymes with ‘cozy’ (which it does) & that takes the appeal out for me. [name_f]Posey[/name_f] looks (& sounds) two seconds away from ‘poser’, which ‘no, thank you’. Also, for some reason -ie spellings, generally look better to me than ‘y’, ‘ey’, or ‘ee’ spellings.
I vote [name_f]Posie[/name_f], too. It looks most like a name to me, probably because of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Posie[/name_f] best!
I say [name_f]Posey[/name_f] or [name_f]Posie[/name_f], just because they look more correct than [name_f]Posy[/name_f] to my eye.
[name_f]Posey[/name_f] feels like more of a concrete name, while [name_f]Posie[/name_f] definitely feels more like a nickname name. Both are pretty, just depends on what you’re going for!
i think posie is the most intuitive!
[name_f]Posie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Posie[/name_f] or [name_f]Posey[/name_f]. These seem the most intuitive to me.
[name_f]Posy[/name_f] is my favourite because of how delicate it looks
[name_f]Posie[/name_f]
[name_f]Posie[/name_f]! It just looks sweetest and most charming to me!!
I honestly think you can’t go wrong. [name_f]Posie[/name_f] or [name_f]Posey[/name_f] I think. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference has always been names that end in -ie rather than -y so [name_f]Posie[/name_f] is my preferred one.
[name_f]Posie[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Posie[/name_f], but I also like [name_f]Posy[/name_f]! The extra E in [name_f]Posey[/name_f] just looks strange to me.
[name_f]Posie[/name_f] gets my vote!
[name_f]Posy[/name_f] That’s the spelling for the bouquet, so it’s most familiar to me. But none of the spellings really look “wrong.” I agree with pp that [name_f]Posie[/name_f] feels the most like a nickname of the three.
Thanks everyone. I try to stick to traditional spellings and the different spellings have always confused me.
I like them all but I think I like Posy best
I prefer [name_f]Posy[/name_f]. The [name_f]Posie[/name_f] spelling is throwing me for some reason.
[name_f]Posy[/name_f], after [name_u]Noel[/name_u] Streatfield’s Ballet Shoes series
