[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is one of the most magical, romantic, ethereal names on my list, and I really need a middle name who does her justice! Ideas I love but not quite enough:
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - I like the repeating long o’s, but I prefer [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle for [name_f]Cosima[/name_f].
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] - I adore these two names separately, but together, they just don’t sing.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] - I like the flow of the sounds together, but [name_u]Wren[/name_u] seems too plain next to the litrerary drama of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] - This would be the one if it weren’t for the fact that it would be the only combo with a word name instead of a nature name.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] - This was my combo for a long time, but it has yet to receive a positive reaction Still, this is the one to beat!
The names in my signature are all potential siblings. I can’t wait to hear your suggestions!
I really like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]! I don’t think it sounds plain, rather it’s bright and adventurous sounding. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is lovely too -it has an intriguing and unusual feel to it, something sweet and distinctive
Seconding [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] from pp!
Some suggestions (sorry if some are a bit much)
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Sunset
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_m]Cove[/name_m]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Breeze[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Whimsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Shell[/name_u]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Bloom
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is on my list, and I think it would be beautiful reversed to [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
@babies123456 - I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Cricket[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] are absolutely darling as well, even if not the right fit for me.
@greyblue - I’m so pleased to hear your feedback on the [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] combo! It has this delicate, elusive quality that I’ve always loved. From your suggestions, I love the gentle bohemian vibe of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] is beautiful, all soft florals and silvery greys. I also like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f], even though it breaks the nature name mold. Oh, and don’t worry about being a bit much - anything “too weird” for my normal lists goes straight to my longlist of fantastical names.
@violet1296 - [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is lovely. (I also think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] in your signature is a darling combo!)
@kipperbo1 - I’m not sure why [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] feels too plain to me. Maybe it’s the synesthesia of it - [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is brown with splashes of daffodil yellow, and that just doesn’t feel like the right fit with [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]'s lacy pastel florals. From your suggestions, I love the imagery of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and the way the sounds flow together, and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is magical with those smoky [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] purples. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Starling[/name_f] is gorgeous as well, with the deep midnight of [name_f]Starling[/name_f] giving [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] more weight and depth. I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is a standout combo, but unfortunately [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is not usable due to a problematic family member.
@jonquils - I’m so pleased that you like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]! [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Gossamer is so delicate and ethereal, and I love the sharp green notes of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u]. I think many of the names in your signature are swoonworthy - [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] [name_u]Fable[/name_u], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Knight[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], and of course, [name_f]Cora[/name_f] Lullaby. Heart eyes for days!
I’m delighted to see so many votes for [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]! These are definitely going on the combo shortlist. Thank you all for your feedback!
@margaretlynne87 - Thank you for your suggestions! I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] are still my favorites among those you listed. I’m going to have to ponder [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] as a nod to my sister, as that’s her first name. She goes by her middle name, so it wouldn’t be too on the nose.
@dream.create - I absolutely adore all these compound word names!! My favorites are [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Skylark, [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Meadowlark, and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Foxglove, but [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Sweetbriar takes the cake - this is hugely meaningful because our first home was in a little neighborhood by that name. You’ve given me quite a bit to think about!
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is stunning, my fave out of all the options!!
A few ideas:
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Soleste
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] Seine
It’s so cool to see someone else mention synesthesia! It’s part of the reason why I am having a tough time choosing a name for myself! I can’t choose anything green because I just don’t like green or green people so that leaves out anything that starts with A, C and G. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], while as objectively as I can get myself to see, is a very pretty name, I personally will always stay far away from it because ph is orange, brown and mushy to me, and Os are very black and dominating.
I don’t see anything wrong with [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] though! My synesthetic preferences aside, I think it’s very fun! She seems quick-witted and entertaining in a way that she’s fun and you can never really pin down her moves. I liked [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] too.
