I love the name [name_u]Damaris[/name_u], but I have never met, or come across a [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] in my life, be it an acquaintance, a fictional character or a minor celebrity.
I find it really difficult to imagine someone with the name.
Who is [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] to you? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name? Be honest.
I love the name [name_u]Damaris[/name_u]/demaris/demarys!!! [name_f]Love[/name_f] to see that someone else besides me likes this strong name.
I think [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] is strong, both emotionally, mentally, and physically, grounded, understanding, supportive, and well adjusted.
She’d make a great counselor, nurse, doctor, EMT, teacher, social worker, etc.
[name_u]Damaris[/name_u], ooooh how I love the name. My first association (and correct me if I’m wrong, as I’m not [name_m]Christian[/name_m]!) is she was one of the first people (aside from the 12 apostles, of course) to follow [name_m]Jesus[/name_m]. I don’t think of people’s personalities with names-- I think more along the lines of connotations I have with words in between my own ears.
I once met a woman named [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] from Western Europe, and she pronounced it Dah-mah-[name_u]REES[/name_u]. Oh, how I fell in love with the name after that.
My first introduction to the name [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] was the woman who won The Next Food Network [name_f]Star[/name_f], [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m]. Here: - YouTube
I really like [name_u]Damaris[/name_u]. It’s one of those names that, while it isn’t traditionally pretty, has a lot of strength behind it.
I have met a [name_u]Damaris[/name_u]. We had AP US [name_m]History[/name_m] together, about 10 years ago. She cheated off another girl in class once, and she had braces until she was in college. I think that’s why I have a negative association with the name.
I had a [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] in class too. I just remembered she was kind of quiet, and she had long, dark curly hair. She seemed nice but I didn’t really know her.
I agree with @esswei. [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] to me will always be that woman who won “Next food Network [name_f]Star[/name_f]”. She is a total warm Southern Girl Next Door whose kitchen always smells of cookies.
I’ve known three women named [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] - all from Puerto [name_m]Rico[/name_m] and the Dominican Republic (where women’s names ending in -is and -ys are sort of popular). It calls to mind a beautiful, friendly but somewhat serious younger lady, for me. I really like this name.
I like it, though it had this familiar ring to it that I couldn’t put my finger on. Now I have figured it out. Kind of reminds me of the name [name_f]Daenerys[/name_f] from Game of Thrones.
The [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] that I know is very creative and artistic. She’s also a bit of a tomboy (likes fishing, hunting, etc) but is also very feminine and is trying to break into modeling. It’s a very positive and strong name for me.
I first heard the name [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] in the [name_f]Millie[/name_f] [name_m]Keith[/name_m] books, where she is a kind but eccentric woman. I picture a [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] as being tall with long dark curly hair, a clear singing voice, and a generous nature. It’s one of those names that’s striking in all the right ways.
To me, [name_u]Damaris[/name_u] is a little girl I know, half Mexican, one quarter white American, one quarter African American. She’s a doll. And very spunky!
