We have a son named [name]Ian[/name] and I always thought the next baby which will be coming soon, would be named [name]Nora[/name]. Now I’m not so sure. It’s really starting to pop up everywhere and I really am not a fan of using a name if it’s being used by everyone. I thought of using [name]Eleanor[/name] and calling her [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Nora[/name] that way, but I find that name is also rising to the top fast. My husband loves the name [name]Lucille[/name] but again that’s another popular choice these days.
Middle name will be [name]Jean[/name].
Does anybody have any ideas of similar names that aren’t climbing the charts?
Have you considered [name]Elnora[/name]? Much much rarer, has a great heroine namesake in the late Victorian novel “A Girl of the Limberlost”. I love that name to death but have never heard it on anyone! If you don’t mind an altered spelling for the sake of avoiding popularity that’s my suggestion!
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Leanora[/name]? Or one of my favorites, [name]Lenore[/name]?
You might be just seeing [name]Nora[/name] everywhere because you’re hyper-aware of it. There’s a workplace video that I had to watch a few years ago - I can’t remember the point they were trying to make, but one of the things that they said was if you think about red cars you start seeing red cars everywhere. If something is on your mind, like red cars or the name [name]Nora[/name], you begin to notice it being used more. That isn’t to say that [name]Nora[/name] isn’t becoming more popular. It could be.
Eh - in my book, popularity does not equal trendy. [name]Nora[/name] is a sturdy name that has been used for a VERY, very long time and yes, it is experiencing a jump in popularity at the moment, but it is definitely not trendy to me at all. Trendy is something that is made up, has never been popular [name]EVER[/name], is on the wrong gender, is misspelled…
That being said, I can see why you would want to avoid a popular name. [name]Eleanora[/name], [name]Leanora[/name] / [name]Leanore[/name] / [name]Annora[/name]/ [name]Honora[/name]/Noirin could all be ways to get to [name]Nora[/name].
I love the name [name]Ian[/name]! I think [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Jean[/name] or [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Jean[/name] would go nicely with [name]Ian[/name].
Ooooh, love suggestion of [name]Bridget[/name] with [name]Ian[/name]! I also love suggestions of [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name]. I hear [name]Nora[/name] occasionally, but I don’t think I would consider is popular. I think it is still very useable for you.
