I would rather avoid using the same first letter in my first name choices. [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] are a bit different though. Yes, first letters are W but [name_u]Wren[/name_u] starts with an R sound. So I also feel R names are out. Thoughts? I am still loving [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] for a first name.
Wren is a top choice for a girl.
Wilder would be a top choice for a boy.
I like both names but wouldn’t be sure if [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] was a boy or girl. I would guess boy but wouldn’t feel confident. Also, I agree that the two names said out loud don’t sound too similar but I don’t like how it looks written out. Admittedly I’m not a huge fan of name alliteration.
Oops, I should have been more clear. [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is a top choice for a girl and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] would be a top choice for a boy. I am unsure about a brother and sister named [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m].
I think [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] would go fine together in a sib set. They both start with W but don’t sound similar. I think as far as R names, it would really depend on the name but I’d be picky about R names with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] too.
Ok, makes more sense! I do like both names. [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] seems more boy to me and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is unisex in my opinion. I would use a traditional feminine middle with [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. Usually I’m also not a fan of using the same initial for siblings but I could see how it works in this situation.
I like them both! [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is one of my favorite names! If it were me, I wouldn’t worry too much about the same letter thing. My sister and I all have A as our first initial and I don’t think it caused any problems.
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] work well as boy-girl sibling names. Despite the same first letter, they have completely different sounds. And importantly, they are are the same style-neither trendy or traditional and evocative of nature.
I was getting eye rolls here. I would be fine with all of my children having the same first letter (would not do this though) or a couple having them and a couple not. My concern is having, for example, two with the same beginning letter and one without. I would wonder if that child felt left out. I know, most likely I am over-thinking things.
I think they make a great pair! Names starting with the same letter don’t annoy me until you hit 4+ kids. Beyond that you can tell that the parents start grasping at straws and get kre8tive to keep up the theme
[name_f]Remember[/name_f] we hear names more than we see them. Names with the same letter but different sounds are less jarring. [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], & [name_u]Abby[/name_u] will get far more eye-rolls than [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
