We are naming our daughter Gwendolyn Pearl and CANNOT decide if her nn will be Winnie (like Winnie Cooper from the Wonder Years who was Gwendolyn) or Gwen. I love both SO much!
Winnie feels so vintage and perfect with Winnie Pearl and a bit more common/popular option for today than the more unknown Gwendolyn. Gwen, however, feels so strong for an adult woman and on a biz card.
Since your daughter will be years away from having business cards, I wouldn’t worry too much about what nickname will go on it! She may choose to use one of these nicknames, her full name, or a totally different nickname in the business world. Go with what you want to call her, and it won’t harm her a bit as an adult!
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is by far my favourite - soft but tough and warm. Still, I’d say wait and see which one feels more natural for you daughter once she’s here
I love both but voted for [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is adorable though so it was a very close call. Have you considered [name_f]Wendy[/name_f]? Similar cute vintage vibes to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] but the D sound makes it feel a bit stronger/more grounded like [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
I’d probably just wait and see which seems to suit her or feels more natural once she’s here.
I love [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] for teen plus age and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] for baby and under 10… but [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is cute but I’m not sure I’d like the winnie the pooh association…
I love [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] so so much, and wanted to name our daughter that, but SO wasn’t really on board… so that would be my pick! [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is cute too but there’s something special about [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] to me.
