I’m a little late in posting. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] was born at home in [name_u]July[/name_u] (and a vbac!).
We did not know the sex of our baby, but had decided on names beforehand. My husband got to pull her up from the water and announce, “We have a [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]” and what an amazing moment it was!
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] was a name we just liked and thought it went well with our son’s name. It felt feminine, and fresh as a “nickname name”, but with ties to the past. It wasn’t until after her birth and name announcement that we discovered that my grandfather’s (who passed away about 10 years before I was born) mother was named [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and had always hoped that someone would name their daughter after her.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is my grandmother’s middle name and I have adored it since I was a child.
Had she been a boy, the name we had picked out was [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] “[name_m]Monty[/name_m]” [name_m]Briggs[/name_m]. [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] is my grandmother’s maiden name. We really wanted to honor her no matter the sex of the baby.
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] joins big brother [name_m]Vance[/name_m] [name_m]Herbert[/name_m].
