WDYT of [name]Winslet[/name]?
I saw it on another baby name website and I love it. The middle name would be [name]Bird[/name]. [name]Winslet[/name] [name]Bird[/name] doesn’t have the best flow, I’m aware but it’s a family name!
[name]Do[/name] you think the connection with the actress is too powerful for people not to take her seriously or is it not that bad?
I think a lot of people would think your a die hard [name]Kate[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] fan.
I love the name, but the celebrity connection has kept it off my own list. You may like other [name]Win[/name]- names or other -et names:

That’s all I can think of when I hear [name]Winslet[/name]! It’s not really a (first) name. I’d try to find something similar, but not so connected to the actress.

[name]Winola[/name] [name]Bird[/name] is really growing on me actually and DH says he likes it. Definitely on our short list! I’ve actually loved [name]Nola[/name] for a long time but DH doesn’t like [name]Nola[/name], so suprised me when he said he liked [name]Winola[/name]!

I love [name]Winslet[/name], its gorgeous, but I for one would be too afraid to use it. [name]Even[/name] though she is my favorite living actress. I do think [name]Winola[/name] [name]Bird[/name] has a better flow too.
The connection is definitely too strong. That’s all I thought of when I saw your post title.
ETA: I think the connection would be twice as strong seeing as your name is Kate. “Hello, this is my Wife Kate and our daughter Winslet”.
[name]Winola[/name] and [name]Rhodes[/name] are really cool together! I personally like the way [name]Winola[/name] [name]Byrd[/name] looks compared to [name]Bird[/name]; it still has connection to your family ties, but adds a little modern flair to it! Still, [name]Winola[/name] [name]Bird[/name] doesn’t have a flow to it compared to others. Is there a type of bird or a name that means bird that you think would flow better with [name]Winola[/name]? Otherwise I think the combination is really unique!
I thought about using something that means bird or is a type of bird like [name]Wren[/name] or [name]Lark[/name] but DH isn’t keen for some reason (he’s really fussy haha)
And [name]Winslet[/name] is definitly of the list - [name]Imagine[/name] introducing myself as [name]Kate[/name], with a daughter [name]Winslet[/name]? I made the connection with [name]Kate[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] but I didn’t notice that I would introduce myself as that :rolleyes: , thanks for pointing that out!
[name]Winola[/name] is pretty and different, I’ve never heard that one before. I really love [name]Winifred[/name], that’s one of my gp names

I actually like it, but the fact that it’s always come back to [name]Kate[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] makes me not sure about it. It’s cute though… and pretty, and unique.
I try my best to stay positive in threads, but I would not use [name]Winslet[/name] [name]Bird[/name]. First, your child will have three last names. Second, neither [name]Winslet[/name] not [name]Bird[/name] sound like girls names to me, in fact neither of them really sound like names at all. Third, I seriously think your kid will be picked on with the middle name “[name]Bird[/name]”. I would strongly consider something else. So sorry to be negative, just feel I need to say something on behalf of this baby.
I dislike it immensely - I hate all these surnames just being thrown around as first names for girls, I think the vast majority just sound unattractive and faux-pretentious.

I definitely think about [name]Kate[/name] [name]Winslet[/name], but I think she is a wonderful actress who played [name]Rose[/name] in Titanic. [name]Winslet[/name] would make a nice middle name.
I like [name]Winslet[/name]! Yes, it also makes me think of [name]Kate[/name] [name]Winslet[/name] but if you like it then I don’t think that’s the end of the world, personally! I agree with uniquenamelover that it would make a nice middle name, though.
