Wished for child name!

I have been through a very traumatic miscarriage, and feel that I am ready to try for another baby. I have been considering names that have special meanings to them.
Along the lines of ‘wished for child’ ‘strong’ ‘survivor’. It took me and my partner a while to conceive last time, so the perfect name would be great.
I already have two children [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] (not [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]), so I would prefer names to be in similar style, e.g not out there

Firstly I’d just like to say that I’m really sorry that you had to suffer through that :frowning: x

One of the meanings of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is “wished for” so you could use any derivation of that - I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] would be very nice with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].
Their are many names of goddesses of fertility ([name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Parvati[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u]) so you could use that as a way of making reference to the miscarriage and the fact that you’ve come through it.

Other names with relevant meanings:
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]/[name_f]Theadora[/name_f]/[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - “gift of the gods”
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - “joyous”
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - “wished for child”
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]/[name_m]Saul[/name_m]/[name_f]Samantha[/name_f] - “the prayer for this child was answered”
[name_f]Myra[/name_f] - “longed for”
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] - “blessed”
[name_f]Asha[/name_f] - “hope” or “wish”
[name_m]David[/name_m] - “well-beloved” or “dear”
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] - “behold my child/my son”
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f] - “God’s answer”
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f] - an infertile woman in the Bible who prayed to God for a child and was given two sons, [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m] - “strong”

My favourites with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] are [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_m]Reuben[/name_m].

I hope I helped and good luck

Here are a few ideas!

[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] means

I like the suggestions of [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and think [name_f]Mary[/name_f] works well too. Some names meaning “strong” that I think would work well are:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]/[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] ([name_m]Gabe[/name_m], [name_u]Gabby[/name_u], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u]

From [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] meaning “gift of God”-- [name_f]Dottie[/name_f], [name_f]Dori[/name_f], [name_f]Dora[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Lana[/name_f]- can mean “precious” or “little rock”
[name_f]Amy[/name_f] - beloved
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] - beloved, precious
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] - to love
[name_f]Amanda[/name_f] - lovable-- [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_u]Mandy[/name_u]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - lovable - [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - lovable

[name_f]Eveline[/name_f]

its Irish and pronounced [name_f]Ave[/name_f]-Leen
and means “wished for” or “longed for” child.
For a girl
