Woodrow and Redding

DH and I are currently digging [name]Woodrow[/name] nn Woods. WDYT? We like nn [name]Woody[/name] too, but feel this might just be asking for trouble.

While I have your attention, what are your thoughts on [name]Redding[/name]? We really like nn [name]Red[/name]. On that note, our last name also ends in -ing and rhymes with “smiling.” Is [name]Redding[/name] “Smiling” too much?

Insight appreciated!

[name]Woody[/name] is most definitely asking for trouble. [name]Woodrow[/name] is usable, but I don’t see any appeal in it.

[name]Redding[/name] is too close to [name]Reading[/name] for me, I don’t like it.

I think [name]Woodrow[/name] and [name]Redding[/name] would both be great choices. [name]Woodrow[/name] would fit right in with all of the “ends in -o” choices currently popular. Row is a fun nickname too. [name]Redding[/name] is cool and jazzy via [name]Otis[/name] [name]Redding[/name].

I think [name]Redding[/name] “Smiling” might be a lot of ing for one guy. I love nn [name]Red[/name] though. [name]Even[/name] [name]Ding[/name]… it’s almost [name]Bing[/name]!
Some other [name]Red[/name] names: [name]Garnet[/name] or [name]Garnett[/name], [name]Radcliff[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Rufus[/name], Harkin, [name]Clancy[/name]

[name]Woodrow[/name] is very handsome. I like both Woods and [name]Woody[/name]. I suppose you could do [name]Forest[/name] or [name]Sylvain[/name]… or [name]Sylvester[/name] for that matter… and call him Woods too.
