Woody : Have I finally gone insane or is it usable?

So I’ve been playing a lot of bitlife lately and one of the names it recommends a lot is [name_m]Woody[/name_m]. I think it would be so cute for a little boy and we know it works great for a man due to [name_m]Woody[/name_m] Harrelson. However I worry that certain associations would put a damper on it. So what do you guys think?

Hmm… [name_m]Woody[/name_m] as a nickname is definitely cute! I think it’s been used as a nn for [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] or [name_m]Edward[/name_m]?

As a full name, I can only think of the cowboy character from [name_m]Toy[/name_m] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. It has been used before, but I’m not a fan. I also don’t like the connotations behind it (euphemism for something…) [name_m]Just[/name_m] a personal opinion!

It’s cute but a brave choice. [name_f]Do[/name_f] it if you love it. If your not sure I’d go with something safer

I think it could work. [name_m]Toy[/name_m] [name_u]Story[/name_u] feels a bit too prominent for me to use it but with the rise of nicknamey names make it feel more usable

I think it’s a strong name, it’s definitely wearable. Most people would be aware that it’s a genuine name and not something smutty. I don’t think that connotation ruins the name unless it makes you feel personally uncomfortable.

Another well known namesake is [name_m]Woody[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] short for [name_m]Heywood[/name_m]. It could also be a nickname for any other name ending in “ward” or “wood” such as [name_u]Howard[/name_u] or [name_m]Elwood[/name_m].

I actually really like [name_m]Woody[/name_m], I think it’s quirky and lovely. That being said, I’d probaby only use it as a nickname for something like [name_m]Sherwood[/name_m].

I agree with the other posters, think it’d be a cute and quirky nickname, but I’d definitely avoid it as a first name.
It would suit some personalities but definitely not everyone, so having other options would be good

I think it’d be a cute nickname, but not as the name. The teasing opportunity would put me off, but I think nicknames escape that!

I went to school with a guy who went by [name_m]Woody[/name_m], his surname was Atwood and I genuinely have no idea to this day what his given name was. I don’t think he got teased over it but he was also a popular jock, so maybe a different kid might have been teased. It was also a nickname so he could have gone by his real first name if he wanted to.

I would use it as a nickname. That way if teasing is horrible he has other options to go by.

I think it would be fine as a nickname or middle name. I wouldn’t recommend as a first name though because of the slang meaning.

Agree I’d use it as a nn

In the Birth Announcements Forum there is a new arrival named Woods [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] and I love it. Woods would work well as it feels more sophisticated and you could still use [name_m]Woody[/name_m] as a nickname.

Agree with others who expressed concerns about slang and [name_m]Toy[/name_m] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. No offense, but I don’t see the appeal personally.
