Worth Your (or My) Consideration

I know S/O’s input will probably further narrow this down on me, but I have a somewhat solid list at the moment, and a rather long list of names I’m on the fence about, and I’d really appreciate some outside input on the list I’m torn over before I take it to S/O so I’m not asking him about names and changing my mind on them lol.

If it influences your response/if it matters, my shortlist can be found here (I’ll list below too in case the link doesn’t work/this is easier).

shortlist
  • jacqueline
  • laura
  • melanie
  • natalie
  • stephanie
  • katherine
  • amanda
  • jennifer
  • jessica
  • elizabeth
  • lauren
  • heather
  • tiffany
  • kelly
  • amber
  • danielle
  • courtney
  • holly
  • marissa
  • kristen
  • lindsey
  • jane
  • allison
  • annabelle
  • ella-grace
  • claire
  • zoe
  • eden
  • reese
  • blake
  • elise

Here is the list of what I am on the fence on (and reasons why, if I have any!):

  • melissa
  • kimberly
  • rebecca
  • christie/kristie
  • julie
  • april
  • erin
  • crystal/krystal (i slightly prefer krystal, but i know it’s more of a hassle)
  • pamela
  • cheryl
  • samantha (not a fan of nn sam or sammy though)
  • alexandra (not a fan of nn alex)
  • taylor (s/o has a very distant cousin (third or fourth cousins I believe?) who lives in the town we grew up in with this name and the same surname…does that make it weird?)
  • carolyn
  • katrina (i live in canada, the hurricane association is there but much much less so…is it still cool to use? technically a family name for me as well.)
  • leah (too plain?)
  • kara/karalie (saw karalie and absolutely adore it, pronounced care-ah-lee; is it too out there? would kara always be car-ah instead of care-ah?)
  • annette (still adore it…is it too old though? most of the names i love were teens in the 80s and 90s, annette was more of a teen in the 60s and 70s to me?)
  • meredith (too grey’s anatomy? not a fan of the show but a lot of the time when i hear the name outside of nameberry, it’s after the grey’s character)
  • molly (love the molly ringwald connection, but i do already have claire after the breakfast club)
  • robyn
  • whitney (too tied to whitney houston? love her music but she isn’t necessarily an artist i love enough to have my child named after)
  • chelsea
  • hannah (too plain?)
  • morgan
  • cindy (too 50s/60s/70s?)
  • cassie (not a fan of any of the long forms, is just cassie ok? i also like kassie quite a bit!)
  • mallory (love the family ties connection, but the meaning is (literally) unfortunate)
  • olivia (love love love olivia newton john, however, is it too ubiquitous/everywhere?)
  • michelle (the full house thing doesn’t bother me, but it’s a close relative of S/O’s name, we only see them once every few years though and don’t really speak to them…is it still ok?)

Sorry this was so long! Please let me know which names from my “On the fence list” you’d like to see me consider!

Thank you!

Kimberly :weary::revolving_hearts: my fav! Leah is an underrated classic. Also I took care of a little toddler Whitney in childcare with blonde hair, bright blue eyes and totally attached to her pacifier LOL. She had an older sister with the same features that adored her. So sweet!!

Of your list, I like [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], Crystal/Krystal, [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_u]Chelsea[/name_u], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_u]Mallory[/name_u], [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]!

For the concerns you have about the names I listed:

  • Crystal/Krystal - I am friends with a [name_f]Krystal[/name_f], she doesn’t have too many problems! You’d have to be willing to say ‘Krystal with a K’ but it’s only a small correction and not too much of a hassle if you love it
  • [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] - I think [name_u]Sam[/name_u] or [name_u]Sammy[/name_u] might be unavoidable here, unless you found another nickname you pushed from the start
  • [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of nicknames here! She could be [name_u]Allie[/name_u] or [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] or something else entirely
  • [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] - The hurricane association is there but I don’t think it would be too much of a problem. I think most if not all of the kids she would grow up with wouldn’t really know about the hurricane unless they had some sort of connection with it
  • [name_f]Leah[/name_f] & [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] - I don’t think either are too plain!
  • [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] - like with [name_f]Katrina[/name_f], the association is there but not too much
  • [name_f]Molly[/name_f] - I don’t think heaps of people would make the connection so you can definitely have both [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f]
  • [name_u]Mallory[/name_u] - depends if you value meanings! Perfectly fine if you don’t but if the meaning bothers you, then maybe it shouldn’t go on your list
  • [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - unfortunately I think [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is very ubiquitous, but if you love it, go for it! [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] does seem very modern though in comparison to a lot of your other names, however

Random question, which name or a few are your top favorites? Im having a hard time not thinking of these lists as whole classrooms full of nice names. They sound so good all together but individually they don’t pack as much of a punch as they do together if that makes sense. Obviously this is true for any nice list not just these names.

Anyway to answer your question I quite like [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]!

I didn’t look at your shortlist so this is all just my personal opinion and organization. Take it or leave it! You’ve got some really nice underused names here.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites:
[name_f]April[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_u]Mallory[/name_u]

Definitely consider:
[name_u]Julie[/name_u]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f] - I don’t think the [name_f]Hurricane[/name_f] thing is a big deal anymore, especially outside the US
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_u]Whitney[/name_u] - [name_u]Houston[/name_u] isn’t even my first association
Christie/Kristie - I think it needs a long form but I really like this nickname
[name_f]Kara[/name_f]

Middle of the road:
[name_f]Melissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] or [name_u]Allie[/name_u] could work
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Robyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Chelsea[/name_u]

Not the right era for your style:
[name_f]Annette[/name_f]
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cheryl[/name_f]
[name_f]Pamela[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] (even though I really like it)
[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f] (but I’d probably still consider)

Too plain/doesn’t give me the right vibe for your style:
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]

Doesn’t work:
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f] - every one I’ve ever known is a [name_u]Sam[/name_u]
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] - I think the cousin with the same last name is a bit odd

I’m just really not a fan:
[name_f]Michelle[/name_f]
Crystal/Krystal
[name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]

It might not be all that helpful to say that they’re all great names for you but I do think they’re great and I think all of the names on this list have the substance to rise above the concerns or associations you’ve mentioned and hold a place on your short list. I don’t consider any of them to be significant issues. If the issue is what’s holding you back on a certain name then I would say ignore the issue not the name.

If I had to choose one issue I would be most concerned about it would be not being a fan of the dominant nickname because I might not be able to limit the use of the nickname in the long term. But I still say add those names to your short list because that discussion can happen later in the naming process.

The most surprising name on the list for me is [name_f]Pamela[/name_f] closely followed by [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f] but there are young women with these names and I’m sure it would be fabulous on a young girl once people knew one. I can also see why [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] might be put in the same category. I think the actual sounds in the name are bright and youthful and I also think of the 90’s because of [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] in the Rugrats.

The names that I like the most with your short list are [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u], Christie/Kristie, [name_u]Julie[/name_u], [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], [name_u]Whitney[/name_u], [name_f]Cindy[/name_f], [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]. That’s based on the vibe I get from the most of names on your short list.

to comment on your questions:
I don’t think [name_f]Krystal[/name_f] would be much of a hassle, actually! I’ve known a few girls with the name, I think you could just say “Krystal with a K”!
I think [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] can definitely be just [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], however, your daughter might want to go by [name_u]Sam[/name_u] or [name_u]Sammy[/name_u], so if that’s something you wouldn’t like, I wouldn’t use it.
Same thing for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. There are a lot of nickname options here, so there’s less of a chance she’d want to go by [name_u]Alex[/name_u], but theres always that possibility.
I don’t think that makes [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] weird or unusable at all. Lots of people share the same name! I went to school with a few kids who shared names with other kids in the school (popular last names, I guess😅) and no one ever thought it was strange (they weren’t usually related though!) because it’s a distant cousin, I don’t think it matters much!! I’d only consider not using it if you plan on having a relationship with the cousin, or if you’d see her often.
I think [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] is usable, especially because you’re in [name_f]Canada[/name_f]. I know of young Katrina’s! I think even if people did think of the hurricane, they wouldn’t say anything about it to you or her. Also, children her age will probably not know of the association, at least not until they’re older.
While I’m not personally a fan of [name_f]Leah[/name_f], I don’t think it’s too plain. A little common, but not plain.
[name_f]Kara[/name_f] and [name_f]Karalie[/name_f] are lovely! I actually pronounced it like I would pronounce [name_f]Carol[/name_f], which is a different vowel sound than both care and car. It would be an easy correction though, if I met someone with the name! So long as you don’t mind a few mispronunciations, you should be okay! I don’t think it’s too out there, it reminds me of [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (just with a k, obviously ).
I actually think [name_f]Annette[/name_f] feels less old than a few names on your list! It doesn’t feel too old to use to me at all. I think there are a bunch of cute nickname options too, which I love. Definitely can picture a little [name_f]Annette[/name_f]!
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] does reminds me of grey’s, but only because I’m a fan of the show. I dont think it’s too tied to the show or character at all, there are plenty of other associations for the name. [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] has been used a lot, I dont think most people would think you named her after the character/show or anything. Also, do want to mention that [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] is a lovely character to be associated with anyway!
I think you should definitely keep [name_f]Molly[/name_f] on your list! Maybe consider the fact that you’d only get to use one (as using both seems like something you wouldn’t want to do!), but theres no reason you cant keep both on your list until you have a little [name_f]Molly[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. Also, if I’m being honest, most people wouldn’t think twice about sisters named [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I’m a huge [name_f]Molly[/name_f] Ringwald and TBC fan, and still probably wouldn’t think of her if I met sisters with the names!
I dont think anyone would think your [name_u]Whitney[/name_u] was named after [name_u]Whitney[/name_u] [name_u]Houston[/name_u]! a strong association, sure, but not the only association. It wouldn’t be like using [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] or [name_f]Cher[/name_f], most people wouldn’t think of the singer when meeting a [name_u]Whitney[/name_u]!
Dont think [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is too plain at all. I actually really like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], she’s very sweet.
I do think [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] is a little older, but not in an unusable way. It’s a very cute name, and I’d be delighted to meet a little [name_f]Cindy[/name_f]!
I think just [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] can definitely work! nickname names are very popular, no reason why [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] can’t be just [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]! also, I literally always prefer the C spelling to the K spelling, but [name_f]Kassie[/name_f] is actually really lovely. It might be the first time I like the K spelling more - its spunkier and edgier, I think!
[name_u]Mallory[/name_u] does have an unfortunate meaning, but I don’t personally think it’s a dealbreaker. Most people dont know or discuss the meanings of names. I also don’t think anyone would judge someone if their name had a negative meaning or anything. However, I do feel like I need to mention that I grew up with a name that had a not great meaning (not necessarily negative, just not really special or nice or exciting or anything!), and I hated it. I remember doing projects in elementary school that involved adding your name’s meaning, and I always felt bummed when everyone else’s names had great meanings. I don’t feel that way anymore, but I did when I was very young so I just wanted to mention it! I still don’t think meaning has to be a dealbreaker though, so long as meaning isnt extremely important to you. I also think it helps if you give the name meaning other than its actual meaning (“I chose this name because I loved it and thought it was the prettiest name,” “I chose this name because it reminded me of an incredible book character,” “I named you this because it reminded me of something beautiful/a place or person I love” etc!!)
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is very popular, but I don’t see it as too much. I think popularity means less now than it used to. I do think [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is still lovely. If popularity is very important to you though, I wouldn’t use it!
I think [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is fine to use, because you dont speak to or see the relative. If it bothers you a lot though, or you think it might bother your SOs family, I maybe wouldn’t use it.

as for names I think you should reconsider:
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Annette[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]April[/name_f]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_u]Julie[/name_u]
[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Karalie[/name_f]
[name_u]Mallory[/name_u]
[name_f]Cheryl[/name_f]
[name_f]Cindy[/name_f]
I also really like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but I think it feels more modern than a lot of your names!!

(also wanted to add that a few of the other names on your list are from grey’s anatomy as well, and I personally wouldn’t use them with [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] if you dont want some people thinking you’re a huge fan )

@shorie - I love [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] too! It reminds me of [name_f]Kimmy[/name_f] from Full House (my sister says I remind her of [name_f]Kimmy[/name_f], not in the annoying sense, but in the bright, cheerful, creative, be your own person, kind of way, which would be kind of a cute reason for me to use it!) so that’s a cool association for me too! I do like [name_f]Leah[/name_f], but I’ve worked with quite a few little ones in childcare, so I’m not sure if it bothers me or not! The little [name_u]Whitney[/name_u] you know sounds adorable!! Thank you! :two_hearts:

@autumn.leaves - Thank you!

@wintersnowflake03 - Thank you! [name_f]My[/name_f] best friend in high school was a [name_f]Krystal[/name_f], but I can’t remember her having issues with spelling or not - until my 20s, she was the only one I ever knew! I think if I had an [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], I’d go for [name_u]Ali[/name_u] or [name_f]Ally[/name_f] (after [name_f]Ally[/name_f] Sheedy!)) tbh! I’m glad [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] is usable and that [name_f]Molly[/name_f] would be ok too! I don’t totally value meanings, the Family [name_m]Ties[/name_m] thing is definitely drawing me more to it, but I remember having to do projects on our own names and meanings in high school and a classmate named Cecili@ M@ry had to do hers - “blind and bitter” :grimacing: She had to deal with a few comments, and so did both Mallorys I went to school with  [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is a weird one because it’s super popular, but I’ve worked with children for 2 years and never met a younger one?? I just feel like I hear it a lot lol.

@hellobanjo Oooh, um, favourites from the considerations would be [name_f]Krystal[/name_f], [name_f]Karalie[/name_f], [name_f]Annette[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Robyn[/name_f], [name_u]Whitney[/name_u], [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u], [name_u]Mallory[/name_u], I think! I do really love [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] too - I think it’s one that could be really sweet nowadays?

@QuirkFlower - That’s totally ok! I wasn’t sure if some people would prefer to add/compare them to my shortlist or not so I included it  Thank you! and I have [name_f]Kristen[/name_f] on my shortlist, so [name_f]Kristie[/name_f] could be a nn for that, I hadn’t thought of using them together, tbh! The nn [name_u]Sam[/name_u] doesn’t bother me so much, I’m just really not keen on [name_u]Sammy[/name_u] - I’ve worked with two boys with the name and know of a third boy with the name, so it’s a bit much for me!

@kachenka - I mean, it helps me, just maybe not S/O when I go to share the list with him :joy: I actually went to school with a [name_f]Pamela[/name_f], and we were born in the mid 1990s, so it always read younger to me! That’s a fair point about [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] though - my first association has always been [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] [name_u]Brady[/name_u] from The [name_u]Brady[/name_u] Bunch (I love the show though so that’s probably why!). Thank you!

@regionlatbest - Thank you! I’d be ok if my daughter wanted to go by [name_u]Sam[/name_u], (maybe not [name_u]Sammy[/name_u] but I’d get over it :joy:) I’d just want to avoid it when she’s young and I can still choose? Once she starts school, I know it’d be up to her though! [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is more just because I like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] for a boy and prefer the nn Ali/Ally, it doesn’t really bother me though! And honestly, I only knew about this cousin because I played soccer with her when I was like…5. I went to school with her but we barely know each other, lol. She just happens to still live in the town we grew up in and it’s a small town but I feel like I’m just overthinking it  I’ve heard good things about [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u], I just didn’t want to look silly if someone made a comment about it and I know literally nothing about the show other than [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_u]Dempsey[/name_u] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] Heigl were on it :joy: I’m also a huge [name_f]Molly[/name_f] Ringwald fan (just realized [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] would be a connection for her too :joy: and my niece has a different character name of hers (unintentionally) so that could be cute for the two of them actually!). Popularity doesn’t bother me per se, it’s just that the rest of my list is quite unique atm! And thank you for that heads up!!

I like [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], [name_u]Chelsea[/name_u], [name_u]Whitney[/name_u], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], [name_f]April[/name_f] and [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] for you!!

Krystal seems perfect for you! I don’t think it’d be too much of a hassle to explain that it’s Krystal with a K.

The nicknames might not be inevitable but they do seem pretty likely - not liking the common nns would move these further down the list for me!

If Taylor was your favourite name ever I don’t think you should avoid using it because of this, but if you’re on the fence about it, then that would probably make me choose another name over Taylor.

The association isn’t strong at all for me since I’m in Europe. I’d say it’s usable!

To be honest it does feel a little plain next to your other names. Nothing wrong with it really, just doesn’t feel as strong as the rest of your list.

I really like Annette but yeah, it doesn’t feel like it’s of the same era as your other names!

If you want to stick to the 80s/90s teen theme, then it does feel out of place. Separate from that though, I think it’s cute!

I’ve never watched Grey’s Anatomy and I’ve come across the name in other contexts too so I don’t think everyone you meet would assume you named the baby after the character. Honestly I feel like its cultural relevance is waning now anyway - I used to hear the show referenced all the time but don’t remember anyone mentioning it recently.

Molly & Claire are both common enough names that having them both on your list doesn’t seem too weird at all.

I don’t think so - she’s the most famous Whitney for sure but I don’t think it’s a one person name (unlike say, Bowie -I would always assume it’s honouring the singer).

More of a timeless classic to me than plain.

Cindy makes me think of the 80s because of Cindy Lauper’s music.

Cassie is definitely usable on its own!

I’m not a huge fan of Mallory’s sound personally, but the meaning wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

Olivia is so popular that the connection to Olivia Newton John doesn’t feel very obvious. Newton though would be cute!

I feel the same way about this as Taylor - if it’s a name you absolutely love I’d still use it! If not, this would make me choose another name.

Also, since Robin is at the top of our list currently, I absolutely have to root for Robyn. :slightly_smiling_face: I really like Melissa too and think it fits your short list perfectly!

I want to put in a very enthusiastic vote for Julie–I think it’s just the sweetest name with such lively, fun energy! I’d be so thrilled (and pleasantly surprised!) to come across a little [name_u]Julie[/name_u]. It also strikes me as very [name_u]Haley[/name_u] in terms of vibe, which makes me love it for you especially. If I could pick one name from the list, it would absolutely be this one!

I also love [name_f]Leah[/name_f] (I don’t find it too plain at all, but then again I do tend to prefer simpler names). And I really like [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Annette[/name_f] (not too old imo!), [name_f]Molly[/name_f], and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] (again, not too plain to me, but ymmv)!

Of your concerns, the ones that stood out to me most were with [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. To me it seems risky to use those names if you really don’t like Sam/Sammy or [name_u]Alex[/name_u]. Everyone I can think of that I know with either of these names (and there are quite a few in my age group!) at least occasionally gets called one or the other.

I’m not sure exactly how to put this delicately, but you may want to consider names that aren’t so tied in people’s minds to a recent past generation. It seems like you’re a big fan of 80s-90s pop culture, and I get that it’s fun for your interests to play a role in your names. However, most children don’t want to have middle-aged-person names, and that’s what many of these are going to be very soon. Some are already. This is one of those situations where I think it’s important to really consider that you’re giving a name to someone else, I assume with the hope that they’ll like it. Will your daughter enjoy having a noticeably stereotypically middle-aged name? Most girls wouldn’t.

I think Holly, Annabelle, Ella-Grace, Reese, Elise, Eden, Julie, April, Kara, Annette, and Olivia don’t have an 80s-90s vibe, so they’re my preferred options here. Mallory doesn’t strike as being as clearly tied to that era as, say, Whitney or Taylor, so I think it could work as well.

Some comments on some of your concerns:

Not going to lie, I feel like I’ve heard Krystal referred to as a stripper name more than once. I’d go with Crystal if you use this.

If the nickname matters a lot to you, I don’t think these are easily avoidable.

Definitely not weird!

I think Annette is cute and fits well with the vintage thing that’s going on right now.

Personally, I think so.

Don’t think it matters! No one will think of the meaning.

Um…I’m not sure how to put this delicately, but I’m not “doing this for fun”…? And I work with children - they don’t care what generation their names are from. They’re easily recognizable, they’re still quite popular in the US for the most part, and some, I actually know children with the names.

But uh, thanks for the consideration for my future child, I guess?

I completely agree. These are fantastic names for women and girls of all ages and they will continue to be into the future. Most of these names fall in the sweet spot of being very familiar but not heavily used today which is a huge positive for many people and often very refreshing to see.

I also know children with these names from my work with children and many other names in a similar style. Right now I can recall [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f], [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Amanda[/name_f], [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], [name_f]Erin[/name_f], [name_u]Chelsea[/name_u], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] as a full name.

I wrote that because I was concerned about how a child might feel, not to rain on your parade. If I had grown up named something like “Cheryl” in my generation where that was seen as a boring older-woman name, I wouldn’t have been thrilled with it. I’m sure I would’ve made my peace with it, but I wouldn’t have loved it, and I feel confident many other girls would’ve felt the same. I’m sure there are also some who wouldn’t have cared, but you can’t know what sort of child you’ll have. I was just bringing that up for consideration.

To offer an alternative perspective, my name is linked to a specific generation and would be considered dated. The median age of my name is between 53-71 years old but I’m in my 20s. It’s only something I noticed as an adult and it hasn’t been an issue for me. It’s never been commented on. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is just my name.

[name_f]Cheryl[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f] [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] from Riverdale who is very young and beautiful (amongst other lovely traits), and a character that lots of young girls love! I think its definitely possible for [name_f]Cheryl[/name_f] to make a comeback, especially if the name becomes more well used in pop culture!

We have very different taste so don’t know how worthwhile my input is, but the ones I like from your list are [name_f]April[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].
If it was me I’d choose [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] of the two. Using [name_f]April[/name_f] would bother me if baby wasn’t born in [name_f]April[/name_f] (I feel the same about season names), and I think [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is currently underused and beautiful. I’ve always thought of it as a bit of a witchy name which is a vibe I like, but it’s also classic and biblical, cute on a little one but elegant on a lady, and I find the palindrome symmetry appealing.
