Would Amethyst work as dog's name

If not, why not?
I personally fancy about having a dog and calling her/him [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]. But don’t know how much that work or doesn’t. Would it be weird?

The dog won’t mind, lol. Could always shorten it to [name_f]Amie[/name_f] or [name_m]Ames[/name_m].

I love it as a dog’s name, what a unique idea! It would shorten easily too if you were looking for casual nicknames.

I personally think anything works as a dog name. I have seen dogs named everything from Fluffy to [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] to [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]Casey[/name_u], and [name_m]Bob[/name_m].
