Would this put you off?

I’ve just been playing around with names and quite like the combo [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Snow[/name] but I did a quick google search on the name and it appears that [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Snow[/name] is the name of a porn star. [name]How[/name] do you feel about this? It would usually put me off but because it is only the second middle name and it wouldn’t be used often, if at all then I’m not sure how to feel about it.

What do you think? Would it be a definite no or would you still consider if if you loved the name? I’m not having children for a few years or I’m just pondering what you all think really.

Has anybody else found a name they like but an association or something has effected your decision?

I wouldn’t go there personally! It would be unfortunate to gave that come up whenever someone searches your name!

It wouldn’t matter to me one bit.

Yeah, the porn star association is a little gross, not gonna lie. However, [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] is beautiful without the addition of [name]Snow[/name].

By the time [name]Aurora[/name] is old enough to Google her name, what are the chances that will still come up? When you add a last name to the end of the name that doesn’t even come up.

I’m sure by the time your child would be old enough to google her own name, [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Snow[/name] would be long gone.

That being said, YOU might not be able to shake the association. Maybe just [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] (gorgeous!) or [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Snow[/name] (also gorgeous!).

Or maybe switch out [name]Aurora[/name] or [name]Snow[/name] for something similar - in terms or sound or style?
If you like [name]Aurora[/name], you might also like [name]Elora[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Leora[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Oriana[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name]…
If you like [name]Snow[/name], you might also like [name]Winter[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Briar[/name], [name]Nova[/name], [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Joy[/name]… (there really isn’t anything similar to [name]Snow[/name]!)

Oh, that is unfortunate. :frowning: I am inclined to say it’s okay, since [name]Madeleine[/name] separates them, but if you google it and it shows up, that would definitely put me off. What about something like [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Nieve[/name]? [name]Nieve[/name] is related to the Spanish word for “snow”… I think @southern.maple made a few good points about [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Snow[/name] still being around when she’s old enough to google her name, and about the adding the LN, too.

I would definitely keep the [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] part, though! That’s just stunning. Maybe see if there’s another second MN you can find. What about [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Fleur[/name]?

I personally wouldn’t worry about it, [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Snow[/name]'s a beautiful name. If a porn star or stripper uses a name it doesn’t automatically make it trashy. I love [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Snow[/name] by the way!!!

Friends, particularly male friends, have attempted to talk me out of using [name]Rae[/name] as a middle because “that is the middle all the porn stars use, it’s got a trashy pole-dancing redneck sound” and I have to say it took considerable gloss off it for me. :frowning:

It wasn’t even a match to a particular one, it was just noting the number of ones who were Something [name]Rae[/name] and that “they’d think the parents of a Something [name]Rae[/name] were not classy…”

I wouldn’t worry about it - aside from the fact not everyone watches porn, there are a TON of names that have those associations that people use all the time and it doesn’t effect the name outside that community at all. When I google my name ([name]Cassie[/name]) I see tons of porn / adult related things come up and it’s a pretty common name.
