Would you allow your child to have a ... in their bedroom?

If the [name_m]Fish[/name_m] [name_m]Tank[/name_m] is adequate for said fish and they are being taken care of properly, I see no problem.

There’s not exactly a good reason why not.

A reading nook (a little corner with a cozy chair, cushions, a bookshelf, and a pretty rug)?

Answering my own question to bump this up.

Yes, as long as it fit in their room.

A full-sized bed?

yeah, I’d be scared of them falling out of a twin bed, my kids are going to have full size if not [name_f]Queen[/name_f] sized beds, never twin.

not really something in the room but about the room. would you let your kid have an attached bathroom to their room?

That’s my dream so of course!!

Hang artwork and awards all over their bedroom walls (like me I guess)?

Yeah, that’s so sweet!

Keep their electronic device (like a phone or iPad) in their room overnight?

no, my parents don’t let me have devices in my room at night and i think it’s good! it’s good for me personally because i don’t have the temptation of getting distracted by my phone when i should be sleeping.

their own little christmas tree?

yeah!! :christmas_tree:

a lock on their door?

Hmm… I wouldn’t understand why because I would raise my children with privacy, but as an older sister I understand feeling the need for a lock on the door when you have younger siblings who don’t understand privacy! So yes, if I could trust they were going to be safe and not do anything bad in their locked room.

A skateboard? (Inspired by my dad taking my sister’s skateboard away from her room and her being very upset about it :joy:)

As an older sister, I completely agree! I love my younger brother to death, but it’s so annoying when he barges in unaccounted for.

I’d allow them to own one, but definitely not in their room, so no.

A small chandelier?

Sure why not?

TV?

no, i really don’t think that’s necessary! i think that if they want to watch tv, they can go downstairs!

food? like candy or snacks?

Probably not… I mean, I do, but technically I’m not supposed to :grimacing::laughing:. So if the question is keep food in their room, then no. But if they want to take a snack up and then bring it back down and/or clean up after themselves then sure.

Artwork on the walls?

Yes!! I keep tons of art and photos and awards and concert programs and posters on my walls, and I love it!!

Musical instruments?

Yes, I always had my instruments in my room. I’d probably suggest otherwise for larger instruments like a drumset but if they’re happy to have it in their room then that’s fine!

Their phone in their room at night?
