Would you avoid these full names?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries!

[name_f][/name_f]

I have a couple of combos I’ve been thinking about, but I made some connections with both that I’m wondering are just a little bit weird? [name_f][/name_f] Could use a second opinion on how bad they are.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- would you be weirded out by the initials APE?
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] Lionheart [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- is Lionheart + [name_m]John[/name_m] too reminiscent of [name_m]Richard[/name_m] the Lionheart and Bad [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]? [name_f][/name_f] Lionheart honors my nephew and [name_m]John[/name_m] my brother/dad, but it does seem a little odd lol.

[name_f][/name_f]

Thank you!

Ape wouldn’t bother me, probably never would’ve noticed tbh. I did however make the [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] connection immediately (I was obsessed w [name_m]Robin[/name_m] Hood when I was little though). I don’t think it would deter me. John’s such a well used name and I doubt most people would notice that connection.

I wouldn’t have noticed either if you had pointed it out :woman_shrugging:

I don’t see any problems, I don’t think anything is weird. If it were me, I would dismiss these connections as background noise. I feel like if we mull over a name long enough, we’re likely to find something that gives us pause but doesn’t actually impact on daily life. That’s how I would view these anyway.

They seem fine to me.

Honestly, initials are usually the last thing I notice when looking at a name. I also never gave it any thought when naming my own children. When do you ever use your full initials anyway?

[name_f][/name_f]

The second one I would never have noticed, and I don’t think other people would, with maybe one or two exceptions.

They’re fine. I wouldn’t have noticed the second.

There’s going to be a last name to add a fourth initial, so this will be fine!

[name_f][/name_f]

The Lionheart [name_m]John[/name_m] association would have completely passed me by.

Echoing everyone else here [name_f][/name_f]- I didn’t notice the initials APE until you pointed it out (I was fully ready to tell you how lovely the combo is together and how much I like the flow[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- which is still the case here but not what you were asking!)

[name_f][/name_f]

If it really bothers you though, remember that there will be a surname initial attached most of the time which might soften the APE connection (eg APEP does not scream ‘APE’ at me, to me it says ‘a pep’ like ‘a pep in your step’).

[name_f][/name_f]

I did notice the Lionheart/John connection but I think it’s cool! I think it’s a subtle thing, if it had been [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] [name_m]Richard[/name_m] Lionheart, I’d definitely suggest you rethink it but as it is, I can’t see it as an issue. also my husband went through a phase of being into the Crusades so not sure if it’s something everyone will notice, just the nerdiest ones lol[name_f][/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

Bottom line: both combos are lovely and I wouldn’t worry about them :two_hearts:

I agree with the other posters that the APE connection isn’t a problem. [name_f]My[/name_f] sister has odd initials, as does my uncle, but people don’t point them out on a regular basis [name_f][/name_f]- only if the subject of initials happens to come up.

[name_f][/name_f]

I did notice the Lionheart/John connection, but my thought was, “Was it [name_m]John[/name_m] Lionheart? I didn’t think so…” I think Lionheart would stick out to me no matter what it was paired with, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad name to use!

I probably wouldn’t use a combo with the intials APE but almost no one would ever notice (only name nerds!) so it’d work out fine (especially if the last name didn’t start with an S!)
[name_f][/name_f]I don’t know much about [name_m]Richard[/name_m] the Lionheart and Bad [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] so that wouldn’t even have crossed my mind!

I think it’s fine, since generally, when initials are written out, it includes the surname, so I think it’s okay (maybe only odd if surname begins with S)

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

With [name_m]John[/name_m] being such a popular classic, I don’t think it’s too odd [name_f][/name_f]- I wouldn’t have made that connection at all to be honest, but maybe if you’re surrounded by people big on that period of history, it might seem more obvious? I think the fact your mind is going to that however, might be something to consider.

Thank you everyone! [name_f][/name_f] I think I’m perhaps more sensitive to animal comparisons because of my weight struggle, but I’m glad to hear it isn’t an issue for most people.

[name_f][/name_f]

Also glad to think most people wouldn’t connect the dots to [name_m]Richard[/name_m] the Lionheart and Bad [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] with [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] Lionheart [name_m]John[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

That’s a good point, thank you!

[name_f][/name_f]

Also glad you love [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f] Elizabeth; I do like her a lot! [name_f][/name_f] I think I am leaning away from her atm (I think [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f] [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] is currently in the lead), but she was my first [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f] love and I’m glad you like her!

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

eh, not really, but it seems to be a rather iconic [name_f]British[/name_f] time period for people to know about in the states. [name_f][/name_f] Especially with [name_m]Robin[/name_m] Hood and all? [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Richard[/name_m] the Lionheart and [name_m]George[/name_m] III are probably the kings of [name_f]England[/name_f] I know most about? [name_f][/name_f] Ironic that it came around to [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] Lionheart [name_m]John[/name_m] but good to know the average person doesn’t go “wow, that’s a bit overkill” lol.
