Would you ever use this as a name

I probably wouldn’t use it myself except as a middle name, but I quite like it! I think it would be cute to meet a little boy named [name]Lion[/name]! I like it especially as a nn for [name]Lionel[/name] or another [name]Lion[/name]-esque name, so he can have a more mellow name if he pleases.

Haha, do it. It’s not too out there, it’s cute. I say it’s not too out there because there’s names that mean [name]Lion[/name]. So you might as well.

Personally, I don’t like many animal names for human first names. I don’t like [name]Lion[/name], [name]Wolf[/name], [name]Fox[/name] etc…Strangely enough, I don’t feel the same way regarding bird names. I don’t mind something more subtle like [name]Peregrine[/name] (eg. [name]Falcon[/name]) or using [name]Wren[/name] or [name]Lark[/name] in the middle spot. Maybe it’s a mammal vs. bird issue for me…or maybe it’s the sound of the names. Some of the names are full of macho swagger that turns me off completely. It’s almost like parents are trying to pick the most masculine name for their son to send an agressive message to the world (I named my boy [name]Lion[/name] and hear him roar!).

I agree I think it is a cool name, cute name, would be cool to meet one. But I think there are alternatives as well. Plus my boyfriend would never allow that name lol way too adventurous for him. I was just curious to see what others thought about it!

I personally prefer [name]Leo[/name]. I don’t think [name]Lion[/name] is SO out there. But it is quite unique.

I can’t say I like it as a name. I think [name]Leo[/name] has a nicer sound. As for animal names, I’d prefer [name]Fox[/name] or [name]Wolf[/name], but they’re all quite bold.

No. I would use [name]Leon[/name] or [name]Leo[/name], but…eh. I’m not a fan of [name]Lion[/name].

For a cat!

[name]One[/name] of the previous posters mentioned [name]Lev[/name]! I love [name]Lev[/name]! I would chose a name that means lion, but no, I would not name a child [name]Lion[/name].

btw Actor [name]Alex[/name] O’[name]Loughlin[/name] recently named his son [name]Lion[/name]. He has a son named [name]Spike[/name] too!
I laughed out loud when I heard it. I never took him for one of those crazy celebrities that would burden his child with such awful names.

I imagine [name]Spike[/name] was inspired by [name]Spike[/name] [name]Lee[/name] or Jonze, but it does seem to put a lot of pressure on a kid. I don’t know how wearable it is.
I’m kinda surprised to say that I think [name]Lion[/name] is useable. I don’t go for many animal names. However I find this one could work well. I don’t care for [name]Lionel[/name] or [name]Leon[/name] though. [name]Leo[/name] is currently very popular here.

I agree, that may be toooo far out there! I would agree with the berrie in using a name that he could have a nickname [name]Lion[/name] or something. [name]Spike[/name] is def. bad enough I just think of the dog from Rugrats or the football player from [name]Little[/name] Giants.

[name]Way[/name] to far out there for me.

It is very interesting to see what people think about it.
