Would you ever use this as a name

Would you ever use [name]Lion[/name] for a boys name? Like [name]Lion[/name] [name]Eliot[/name] or some other middle, or is it just too far out there?

Personally, I love [name]Lion[/name]. That being said, I don’t know how much is too out their for you but I can see myself using the name like this.
However, I love [name]Lev[/name] even more. [name]Lev[/name] is a Russian word for lion and quite popular in Slavic countries. Other plus is the connection with one of my favorite writers, [name]Lev[/name] Tolstoy.

I think its totally useable!!! Its very handsome!!
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Lion[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Lion[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Lion[/name] [name]Nicholas[/name]
[name]Lion[/name] [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Lion[/name] [name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Lion[/name] [name]Jackson[/name]
for the whole names

I don’t see the point when [name]Lev[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] already exist…

I would use [name]Leo[/name].

It’s too far out there for me.

Maybe use [name]Lion[/name] as a nn for [name]Lionel[/name]?

I wouldn’t use it, but it doesn’t seem any more “out there” than [name]Wolf[/name] or [name]Fox[/name] or [name]Raven[/name]. I’d prefer [name]Leo[/name] or [name]Lev[/name], though.

I wouldn’t use it myself, I would rather used [name]Leonidas[/name] and possibly use [name]Lion[/name] as a nn. I personally think [name]Leonidas[/name] is much more interesting than [name]Lion[/name].

I knew a [name]Lyon[/name]. It actually has a nice sound, but I wouldnt use it myself. I love [name]Leo[/name] though.

i think [name]Lion[/name] is a great name. you have so many people running around named [name]Leo[/name] or [name]Leon[/name] or [name]Lionel[/name]… why would [name]Lion[/name] be “too out there”?

side note: [name]Ari[/name] means [name]Lion[/name] in Hebrew and [name]Ariel[/name] means [name]Lion[/name] of God. just adding to the collection

I actually love [name]Lion[/name]. Someone pointed out that it sounds a lot like “lyin’”, though, so no, I wouldn’t use it on its own, but I do really love it. My mom started this cute thing where she has little animal nicknames for all of her children, and I’d like to continue it for my own kids. Depending on personality and such, I’d love to be able to call a future son “my brave little lion” (although I think I’d probably have a “little bear” first!). I love the idea of [name]Lion[/name] as a nn, and I think [name]Leonidas[/name], [name]Lionel[/name], [name]Leopold[/name], [name]Lev[/name], [name]Leonard[/name]/[name]Leonardo[/name]/etc. are great for a full name. And if [name]Lion[/name] is something he doesn’t love when he can make up his mind, then he always has [name]Leo[/name] (or a plethora of other nns) to choose from.

Good luck!

I would only ever use [name]Leon[/name].

I would use [name]Leon[/name] or [name]Lionel[/name].

While lions are very beautiful and cool animals (stay at home dads!), I have never been to fond of the English word for them. [name]Lion[/name] is so tame. [name]Leo[/name] is sweet, I adore Spanish [name]Leon[/name] and Danish/Norwegian Løve. [name]Leonidas[/name] and [name]Lionel[/name] can be called [name]Lion[/name].

I think it’d make a cool NN option, but yeah, I don’t think I’d use it as a stand-alone first name (maybe as a MN it’d be fine though). [name]Lionel[/name] NN [name]Lion[/name] would be pretty stellar (and there are so many other lion related names to choose from too, seems unnecessary to go with [name]Lion[/name] by itself).

I love [name]Leo[/name] to much to bother with [name]Lion[/name].

I know a [name]Tiger[/name]. [name]Lion[/name] is just as usable!

It just seems like a LOT to burden a kid with. I know, there’s a way to make fun of every name, but [name]Lion[/name] seems especially ripe for teasing. I’m in the [name]Leo[/name], [name]Lev[/name], [name]Lionel[/name] camp. Those are all great choices.

Yes BUT only as [name]Simba[/name] or Aslan [both mean lion]. Also only for girls. I recently saw a boy named [name]Lyon[/name].
