- Yes it doesn’t matter
- No it’s too common
Would you use a common middle name? Like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]William[/name_m] etc?

It depends! If they were a family name then definitely, if it was just a name I loved I might be a little hesitant as I prefer names that aren’t super common, but ultimately if it was the name I really loved I’d go for it.
If it has a meaning to me and/or I love it, yes. But I generally prefer uncommon names so probably wouldn’t use them anyway.
I love [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and they’re also honour names, so to me it really doesn’t matter.
Sure! I love common middle names.
I would use a common middle name!
If the first name were also common, I might be more hesitant, unless I had a specific reason to use that middle name. There are some cases were it feels like a first name-middle name common in its own right. In those cases I might look for alternatives.
I would, but only if it’s a name I really love. But, in general, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with common middle names. I just wouldn’t want to use one because “Oh, she has to have a middle name and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] goes well with everything, so there you go, _______ [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Easy.” Does that make sense? Like, I think middle names, regardless of whether they are common or not, should have significance behind them.
No, but because most middle names I like tend to be uncommon. I don’t seek out uncommon names or avoid common ones the same way I do for firsts, I just so happen to like uncommon choices.
Because I like common names as first names, I wouldn’t use a common name in the middle as well. However, if I were using an unusual first name, then I think those middle names would be fine!
I’m looking at doing honor names for middles. Though some will be for people, others will be for things we hold dear (nature, an important event, etc.). Some of my names will be rated as popular/common, others will seem familiar yet not quite there, and others have never been anywhere near the popularity list (or even heard of) where I live. All the names we use will be names we love.
I would prefer an uncommon middle name, but if the name is common and meaningful to me, I would use it.
