Would you use this name? (Similar to niece's name)

I really like the name [name]Julian[/name], but I have a niece named [name]Julia[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think it’s just too close? We see them a couple of times a month. [name]Even[/name] if we don’t see them weekly, I’d say our families are pretty close.

[name]Do[/name] you have any suggestions in that feel? [name]Adrian[/name] comes to mind, but I don’t like it anywhere near as much.

My other son is named [name]Luke[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] and my daughter is [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Noemi[/name].

Yes, that’s what I figured. I like [name]Sebastian[/name] but my husband does not.

We also have these names on our list:

[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name]
[name]Eli[/name]
[name]Adam[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]

[name]Levi[/name] - great name, would you mind the two L names on the boys?
[name]Jude[/name] - seems like it might be close to [name]Julia[/name] too, and really close to [name]Luke[/name]…
[name]Owen[/name] - fits well in the set!
[name]Miles[/name] - fits well in the set!
[name]Tristan[/name] - it’s OK, but I like some of your others better
[name]Eli[/name] - great fit in the set!
[name]Adam[/name] - it’s OK, but I like some of your others better
[name]Sidney[/name] – fair warning: will be somewhat uni, and dated…
[name]Wyatt[/name] - love the name, decent fit in the set although I think some others fit better
[name]Sawyer[/name] - fair warning: somewhat uni, but works OK

[name]Do[/name] you like:
[name]Damian[/name]
[name]Dorian[/name]
[name]Fabian[/name]
[name]Florian[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Julian[/name] and [name]Julia[/name] are too close for me as well. I really like [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] from your list. I’ve always felt that [name]Oliver[/name] would make a great sibling for [name]Julian[/name]…there’s something stylistically similar there for me, so I thought it might appeal to you as well.

What about using a nn for [name]Julian[/name]? Does [name]Julia[/name] go by a nickname? I think something like [name]Julian[/name] nn [name]Jude[/name] would work just fine, or even [name]Julian[/name] nn [name]Ian[/name]… I love the idea of [name]Jules[/name] as a nn for [name]Julian[/name], too, but if [name]Julia[/name] gets [name]Jules[/name] sometimes, it would be too close, I think.

I love [name]Jude[/name], [name]Owen[/name], [name]Adam[/name], and [name]Sawyer[/name] from your list, as well, and think they go really well with [name]Luke[/name] and [name]Virginia[/name]. I think [name]Miles[/name] (or even [name]Milo[/name]) would go great with [name]Luke[/name] and [name]Virginia[/name] as well… I just don’t love it quite as much as your other options.

I think I’m more fine with overlapping/similar names in families because of my own family… I’m [name]Ashley[/name], my uncle is [name]Bruce[/name] [name]Ashley[/name], his brother is [name]Ashley[/name] [name]Bruce[/name]… my brother, dad, and grandfather were/are all [name]John[/name] [name]Robert[/name], my great grandfather was [name]John[/name] [name]Russell[/name], my dad’s cousin is [name]John[/name] [name]Allen[/name] (who has a son [name]John[/name] [name]Allen[/name] [name]Jr[/name].), and my dad’s other cousin married a [name]Johnny[/name]… Tons of overlap in my family, lol, and we don’t really seem to be at all bothered by it. lol. So I wouldn’t mind having a cousin with a name really similar to mine. If you’re worried about it, though, maybe you should talk to your brother/sister/[name]BIL[/name]/[name]SIL[/name] and see how they feel. Maybe even talk to [name]Julia[/name], if she’s old enough to understand. She might actually think it was really cool to have a baby cousin with a name close to hers.

Good luck!
