Expecting our fourth daughter in a few weeks and still stuck for a name. It gets harder every time!
We try to go for uncommon names with typical spellings. I prefer to avoid another duplication of first initials. Siblings are [name_f]Mckenna[/name_f] (f), [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] (m), [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] (f), [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] (f), [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] (m).
For a middle name I would like to use [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] as a nod to both grandmothers with [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as a root with Dutch and [name_m]French[/name_m] origins for [name_f]MIL[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and my mom has [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as a middle.
My husband and I have a hard time agreeing on a name we both like. Two choices from last pregnancy that we could agree on this time were [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but I am just not sold on either. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is so much more popular than the names I like to use, yet we do not know a single one, even with two teachers in the family. And [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] I am just not in love with.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] today hubs said he would consider [name_u]Wren[/name_u] even though he is not a big fan because I like it. My concern with [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is that may sound too similar to [name_f]Brynn[/name_f].
I think they’re too similar for sisters, but I love [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] with your other kids’ names. Other ideas that go with [name_f]Mckenna[/name_f], [name_u]Barrett[/name_u], [name_f]Cadence[/name_f], [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], and [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]:
I do think [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is too similar to [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], a similar name that doesn’t sounds like her sister’s would be [name_f]Lark[/name_f].
I think [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] works really well in your sibset!!!
Here are some suggestions:
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]
[name_u]Reagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Paisley[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_u]Peyton[/name_u]
[name_f]Amity[/name_f]
[name_f]Winona[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_u]Addison[/name_u]
I have had so many of these on my list!
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] I love but it is my cousins name.
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] I wanted to use for this baby but my husband was not on board. And then someone we know named their baby [name_f]Eira[/name_f] (which they pronounce Ay-ra). They will go to school together someday.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] has been on my list since at least 2010 but it feels clunkier now somehow.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] I reconsidered this time but again hubs was a no go, as was [name_u]Waverly[/name_u].
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] my husband was hounding me about for months but I literally know 6. Three are daughters or sisters of old friends, one a student at our current tiny school (under 40 kids), one a student at our previous school that babysat for us. I like that it can be a nickname for [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] because my mom is Thérèse-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] and her mom sometimes called her [name_f]Tressa[/name_f]. But the fact that it is a good friend’s daughter holds me back, even though she said she would not mind.
I love [name_f]Briar[/name_f] but since we already have two B’s it is out. Hubby was not a fan of it last time it was on my list. I love so many B names!
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] I loved when pregnant with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] but then it was my brother-in-law’s girlfriend and he went and got engaged to her before [name_u]Baby[/name_u] was born. So now she is aunt [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u].
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] my [name_m]SIL[/name_m] is considering for a boy and she is due 2 weeks after me.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u], [name_u]Reagan[/name_u], [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f], [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Emery[/name_u], and [name_u]Addison[/name_u] have all made the list at some point but hubby did not agree on any besides Delaney.
Oddly enough [name_f]Taryn[/name_f] was actually another name I loved but thought was too similar to [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] until I met someone named Brynn whose sister was [name_f]Taryn[/name_f]. But Hubby thinks it is weird.
[name_f]Annika[/name_f]/[name_f]Anneke[/name_f] is very Dutch but a food friend has one who shares a birthday with my oldest.
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] , Thea, Ashlyn and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] hubby vetoed.
[name_f]Marielle[/name_f] is really pretty to me but it repeats the M initial and hubby does not like it for a first name. I had to convince him to use it as a middle.
