Xander?

I am realizing I like the name [name_m]Xander[/name_m] a lot. It’s just crisp and cool without being too long. And I’ve come to realize I’m not really into giving long names that you exclusively use a nickname for anyhow. So would it be tacky to skip [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and go right to [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. [name_m]Xander[/name_m] or [name_m]Zander[/name_m]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] is [name_m]Ander[/name_m] better? I just dont like [name_m]Anders[/name_m] as much with an s on the end.

[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Rafael[/name_m]- or the Rs run into each other there?

[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Fox[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Clarke[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Julian[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]

I would like to pair [name_m]Xander[/name_m] with a soft, masculine and kind of zippy middle name. Suggestions please!

I have an [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. And my newest obsession is [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_u]Blake[/name_u] but I’m completely redoing my boy list and want at least two contenders in case [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] shall have a brother. I like [name_m]Evander[/name_m] but I dont know if I want two Es. I typically wouldn’t mind it but if I have all boys I dont want to create a theme I have to keep following. I already have that problem with all middle names in the family starting with R but willing to break it.

xander can stand on its own perfectly fine & xander fox and xander julian are both very cool & go well with elliot reese !!

xander blake
xander leif
xander elliot
xander elias
xander elijah
xander lewis

hope this helps !!

I think [name_m]Xander[/name_m] works! I knew one who seemed to get
along fine with just being a [name_m]Xander[/name_m]

[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Fox[/name_u] is nice and I like [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] too!!

[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Beck[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Frey[/name_m]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Oak[/name_u]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u]

Thank you! I like it. [name_m]Just[/name_m] need that amazing middle name!

I have an [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and personally I only see [name_m]Xander[/name_m] being a nickname from [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] myself. Mainly I think because [name_m]Xander[/name_m] doesn’t really feel well established.

I like it! I think I would go with [name_m]Zander[/name_m] for a stand alone.

[name_m]Zander[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Zander[/name_m] [name_m]Morris[/name_m]
[name_m]Zander[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Zander[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m]

I just dont like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] unfortunately. I feel like an [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] would get [name_u]Alex[/name_u] much more than [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. as [name_m]Xander[/name_m] is becoming its own stand alone variation. But I hear you. I dont mind [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] as long as people don’t use [name_u]Alex[/name_u]. [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is classic and handsome. I just wish I didn’t know so many. And as odd as it is, [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] has a while different vibe to me than [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. [name_m]Xander[/name_m] feels more fresh but yet stems from that classic name. Its a little more care free and zany to me. But I did ask if it could stand alone or if its too tacky. I do worry if it lacks total substance compared to [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].

I thought about the [name_m]Zander[/name_m] spelling. I’m not a big fan of names starting with X honestly so I am drawn more to [name_m]Zander[/name_m] but since [name_m]Xander[/name_m] comes from [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], I wonder if its just taking too many liberties with it or not.

I feel like [name_m]Xander[/name_m] looks more like a nn for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] since it’s actually a shortened version of it. [name_m]Zander[/name_m] feels more separate to me but thats just my feeling. Also prefer the look of Z over X for some reason.

Super agree!! I really like Zs more than Xs too!

I understand. [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] gets [name_u]Alex[/name_u] a lot :weary: but I tend to call him [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. To me, [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] are two entirely different names too.

I guess the appeal of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is he can go by whatever he wants when he is older. There are so many nickname options.

I think with [name_m]Xander[/name_m] you many get the common question of ’ is that short for Alexander’ that would irritate me I think, as a parent.
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] doesn’t quite feel well used as say Charles/Charlie Theodore/Theo etc etc. The nickname options of these longer versions seem to be relatively well used, over Alexander/Xander. Lots of luck when the time comes

Also if you like [name_m]Evander[/name_m]? But don’t want two E’s there is [name_m]Leander[/name_m] or [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]? The [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] would give you the Zander/Sander sound too.

I wanted a list of distinct names I guess. And I have an [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] and I love the name [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] so I wanted a third option that had its own unique beginning and ending. I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] anyhow. I dont like the “lie” sound. [name_m]Leander[/name_m] is okay but I prefer [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Xander[/name_m], [name_m]Ander[/name_m], [name_m]Anders[/name_m] or [name_m]Evander[/name_m] over it! I do really like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I just dont like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] because there was one in my life who passed away and it was a sad experience. Also most of the [name_u]Alexes[/name_u] (in attempt to make [name_u]Alex[/name_u] plural here lol) I have known have been female. So I like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] better on a girl than boy (obviously they are probably [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], etc). [name_m]Ive[/name_m] been giving it a lot thought though if I should just use [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and try to get his nickname to be [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. I just know [name_u]Alex[/name_u] will probably come about. It’s inevitable I would think!!

From experience, ( if this helps at all) 100% stress his name to be [name_m]Xander[/name_m] if you do go for the full [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. You could even introduce him as [name_m]Xander[/name_m] to family and friends and say his full name is [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] but we are using [name_m]Xander[/name_m].
Funnily enough it was my intention of using [name_m]Xander[/name_m] for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. I also have a [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] and I wanted [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] and [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. But my OH’s family just called him [name_u]Alex[/name_u]. And I should have put my foot down more with regards to the nickname I wanted. I actually think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] sound lovely together as they both are classic names

I think it is good to just use to name you’re going to call him as the full name. A longer form isn’t needed.

Actually, I like the similar Sander the most but Xander and Zander are both also really nice.

I don’t think the Rs run into each other. Xander Rafael is a great combination.

These are also good options! I especially like Xander Julian.

Xander Noah
Xander Emiliano
Xander Vincent
Xander Freyr

I think Xander and Elliott are nice for brothers!

Thank you! I love [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_u]Noah[/name_u].

I love [name_m]Xander[/name_m]! I also like [name_m]Zander[/name_m], so it really comes down to the spelling you prefer. While [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is more common, I think [name_m]Xander[/name_m] is a cool standalone (especially if you don’t plan on calling him Alexander).
