Xavier or Arthur?

Which one do you prefer and why?

Both are very handsome and versatile, in that I think both names could grow with a child of a variety of personalities. Both have a sort of mythical, magical quality to them as well, which I very much like (which makes me think they’d make an excellent set for brothers!)

[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] feels a smidge more sporty and edgy to me, while [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] feels more cozy and intellectual. Personally according to my own taste, I prefer [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. I think it’s meaning is very sweet, and I just generally like the way it sounds better. However, both are good, and between the two of them you can’t go wrong, it just comes down to the vibes you want to go with I think.

Both are lovely!

However my favourite is [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] he’s just so warm, cuddly and classic. I have been really loving a cosy vibe of recent I think my recent naming style has been matching up with my home interior vibe which is cosy classic with a boho flair. I love the nickname [name_m]Art[/name_m]. I think the name [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] fits this aesthetic perfectly. He’s really handsome and I love the subtle animal connection through his meaning. I would totally embrace a bear themed nursery :bear:

I like the classic [name_u]Arthur[/name_u], strong but sweet. Nn [name_u]Artie[/name_u], [name_m]Art[/name_m], [name_u]Ari[/name_u] and [name_m]Bear[/name_m] are cute too

i prefer arthur! xavier looks a little harsh to me because of the X beginning, and i think it’s more likely to have pronunciation or spelling issues than arthur. and i just like arthur’s cozy vibe and sweet nicknames more!

[name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. I’m not terribly fond of either and I don’t prefer it by a huge margin, but I like Arthur’s association with Arthurian legend and the nickname [name_m]Art[/name_m].

Everything @ceilidh_rooney said, except that I prefer [name_m]Xavier[/name_m], precisely because it feels a tad edgier to me. It’s an effortlessly cool name.

[name_u]Arthur[/name_u]! I like the Arthurian legend connection and I think it’s a very handsome, noble name that is soft-sounding but strong. [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] is also handsome but a bit sharper sounding.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I like both, but would lean towards [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] is kind of cool in theory, but the fact that it has two pronunciations turns me off. I prefer ‘Zay-vee-air’, but some people say ‘Ex-zave-ee-air’. I find the former pronunciation too complicated. [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is classic, sweet, and straight forward.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
