Can anyone suggest a similar sounding name? Or a better spelling? Any reason NOT to use this name in any particular spelling?
You could spell it like you would spell [name]Maya[/name]…Zaya. I would stay away from the X. I like how Zaiya looks and it probably is the clearest spelling in terms of how to pronounce it.
My DD is named [name]Keziah[/name] - we pronounce it Keh-ZYE-uh (I think that is the same sound as Zaiya).
I might spell it Zaia. It reminds me of [name]Maia[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name], so that spelling seems most natural to me. Of course I also know a few that spell it [name]Maya[/name]/[name]Kaya[/name]/Zaya. I would pronounce Zaia like “Zy-uh” and Zaiya like “Zy-yah”
Definitely not Xya, that’s just confusing. Zyah looks too phonetic to me. Zaiya is pretty, I also like the Zaia suggestion. Zaya would be ok but I worry it would be mispronounced Zay-uh instead of zy-uh.
My favorite is Zaia, seems simple and intuitive and lovely.
