It is a tad off sounding to me personally. Maybe not necessarily strippery sounding but like a brand of popcorn or cleaner. Sorry if that is harsh just the first few things that came to mind!

I’ve never heard of it. It doesn’t sound like a stripper name to me, but it does sound made up and not dissimilar to the word kernel…

It also makes me think of the word canary.

Nah, it doesn’t. Stripper names to me are more words than actual names. So I think it’s okay!

[name_m]French[/name_m] for “cinnamon”, I believe? No, I think it’s fine.

Is Cannelle pronounced like canal? When I hear it all I can think of is a canal. I live near the Great Lakes, so we have canals here.

So I looked this up and it appears as though it is pronounced can-yell… is that correct? I think can-yell sounds much prettier than canal which is what I assumed the pronunciation would be.

It doesnt strike me as a stripper name. More of a pets, actually.

It’s the [name_m]French[/name_m] word for cinnamon which is pronounced “Cah-[name_f]NELL[/name_f].” It is not used as a name in [name_f]France[/name_f].

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like “Manelle” as an alternative? It is the [name_m]French[/name_m] version of an Arab-origin name.

I associate names like [name_f]Candy[/name_f] and Desire with strippers. Cannelle just strikes me as [name_m]French[/name_m].

In English, I don’t find Cannelle to be a stripper name but as a [name_m]French[/name_m] speaker, I do find it weird as it’s [name_m]French[/name_m] for [name_f]Cinnamon[/name_f], and [name_f]Cinnamon[/name_f] is a name I automatically link with exotic dancers (I know two girls named [name_f]Cinnamon[/name_f] and one is in fact a stripper).

So, in English, no, I just find it a bit odd, in [name_m]French[/name_m], it’s very much a “stripper-esque” name imo.

Cannelle is [name_m]French[/name_m] for cinnamon, so it’s a bit offputting to me. I have a bit of a distaste for using simple words from other languages as names. I see the appeal, but I wouldn’t go for it.

Well it didn’t until you asked!!

All it sounds is kitschy.
