I’m trying to choose a new name for myself, and am having trouble choosing one that I love. I have a list already, but am wanting to look at some more options before I decide. [name_f]My[/name_f] last name is [name_m]Kumar[/name_m] and I’m wanting an [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name, since my family is from there, but that is still easy for Americans to say and spell.
I work at a preschool in an area where there’s a high Indian population, and my favorite Indian name I’ve heard that fits your wants is Kalingan. It sounds like the name Callaghan, and the kid goes by Kal
[name_f]My[/name_f] personal favourite is [name_m]Sachin[/name_m]
I love it, but one of my cousins is [name_m]Sachin[/name_m] so I can’t use it
[name_m]Arjun[/name_m] and [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] are two I really like that are easily pronounceable for Americans, and many are probably already familiar with the names as well. I also like Rishab for something less common in the US.
Some I like are:
[name_m]Ajay[/name_m]
Jay/Jai

[name_m]Arjun[/name_m]
[name_m]Kavi[/name_m]
[name_m]Naveen[/name_m]
[name_m]Ashwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Ravi[/name_m]
I have always loved the name Devendra.
I really like [name_m]Vihaan[/name_m], which I think I saw you mention in a previous topic?
Here are some I have saved as favourites over the years…
