In southern U.S., I consistently hear it pronounced ah-meal-ya. I prefer the pronunciation of
Ah-me-lee-ah but I can deal with Ah-meal-ee-ah. I absolutely cringe when I hear the “ya” at the of such a lovely name!

That’s so interesting! When i read the book [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] i read it as “cora-line” i love hearing other peoples pronunciations 
Probably [name_f]Clara[/name_f], i only like the pronunciation that rhymes with lara i can’t stand “Claire-uh”
Edda/Eda - “ee-Duh” not “ed-uh”
apparently i have name issues 
this is coming from a multilingual/cultural standpoint, so it might be quite irrelevant to you, but here i go anyway:
isaiah - no one pronounces it the way i like 
(EYE zai ya, or however the heck you’d phonetically spell)
ezra - Zs as anything but initials are unpronounceable in portuguese 
tomás - small difference, but the portuguese flair or of (tomAS, stress on the second syllable!!) sounds special to me, but other languages will just have it as your usual thomas
taeyang - the yang in english, the tae in portuguese, no spelling that works in more than one language
and honestly, just english names with particular english sounds (i = eye instead of ee, the r, a = ay) that sound unique in english, but the rest of the world would disagree. some i love are shiloh, river, rain, haven

I’ve got a few of these.
I love [name_m]Colm[/name_m]. But it’s just too weird if it’s not said w/an Irish accent. And I don’t have one & we live in the Midwest. It just wouldn’t work.
[name_m]Liev[/name_m] is a tricky one. I love [name_m]Liev[/name_m], but I’m never sure whether to say it one or two syllables, & it would bug me that people may say it differently sometimes.
Aine-This is another beautiful Irish name that doesn’t sound as pretty w/out an Irish accent. And it would confuse Midwesterners a lot!
Josephine-I love this so much, but it drives me crazy that it can be Jo-suf-feen or Jo-zuh-feen.
I mean, there’s the bunch of Irish names I adore, but those I feel aren’t huge dealbreakers for me. The one that gets me is [name_f]Aurélie[/name_f], my partner loves it, but my mom is very anglophone and it sounds like “orally” when she says it, which bugs me to no end
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I seriously considered the name [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] - pronounced like [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] - until we realized that name/pronunciation essentially doesn’t exist. Like pretty much everyone would default to [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f]. We’d have to explain it. [name_f]Every[/name_f]. Time. Then she’d have to explain it when she got old enough. Couldn’t do it.
[name_f]Selah[/name_f]. 
I think it’s such a beautiful name, with such a gorgeous meaning, but the fact that there are multiple common pronunciations completely takes it off the list for me.

I love Celtic names but I can’t use so many of them as fns because of this issue! I’d still totally use these all as middles. Thank goodness for that middle spot!

For what it’s worth, [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is so popular now I think many people know how to say it. A bonus to popularity! 
For me, it’s got to be Aoife, Io (2 pronunciations), Sarai (not even sure myself if it’s sare-eye, sur-eye, or sar-ai), Siobhan, and Xochitl for girls and I don’t really have any for boys.

#2. [name_f]Lune[/name_f]: I pronounce it like loon and I actually like it this way despite the teasing risk it carries because it differs itself from the too popular [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and it gives it a [name_u]French[/name_u] flair
#3. [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]: I’ve heard this name pronounced two ways and I personally would rather it always be said like magda-lehn. For this reason when I do include it in lists I normally favor the [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] spelling instead

[name_u]Halle[/name_u] (Hallie) - love this so much but I think a lot of people would pronounce it as [name_m]Hal[/name_m] (not really a fan of the [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] spelling for some reason)
Feyre (fey-ruh) - to be honest I didn’t know how to pronounce this either when I first saw it so I can only imagine the struggle somebody who has this name would have with the constant corrections
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] (they-ah) - I think most would pronounce this as Thee-ah
