Your Favourites Firsts Out of Ours! (Boys Edition)

Hi Berries!

Just for fun, I thought I’d put all our favourite first names in a poll and see what the Nameberry favourites are!

You can pick as many names as you love, and feel free to comment any additional thoughts, feelings, etc.

And yes, we have much fewer boys favourites than girls favourites… finding good boys names seems to be so much more complicated!

Have fun! :hugs: Xx

(I know not everyone likes these styles of names and that’s totally okay - that’s what makes Nameberry fun and interesting! However, names can mean a lot to people, so let’s be kind in our commenting and discussions.)

  • Othello
  • Ignatius
  • Horatio
  • Roman
  • Casper
  • Peregrine
  • Phoebus
  • Bowen

  • Endymion

Casper and [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] are my faves :eagle:

But these are all so cool. [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] “[name_m]Iggy[/name_m]” is a huge GP of mine!

Ignatius is probably my favourite.

I voted for [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Endymion[/name_m] too, both very cool names.

This is a cool list! It was hard to choose. I especially love [name_m]Horatio[/name_m]

I like [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] alot!!

Othello makes me think of the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] play and getting smothered by a pillow… not the best image for my child, imo. :grimacing:

oh my i love them!

my favorites are casper, peregrine, bowen and endymion …which is about half of your list and not helpful at all
i also appreciate the other names in your list. they are a bit strong for my taste, but i think could be very distinguished on a young man, he would sure be one to remember.
i only have a foot behind with othello, with its one and only big reference.

imo, they are quite different styles, of different popularity. they would take a sibset in different directions, i’d say.

Ooh [name_m]Phoebus[/name_m]! I never see this name on here!

I really love [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m], too!

Casper, [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] and [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]. [name_m]Othello[/name_m] is super cool but it’s much too connected to the character for me to use as a name on a child. He’s such a complex, flawed and ultimately tragic character!

I absolutely LOVE [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]. So strong and handsome with classic roots but so fresh and fun sounding. Perfectly on trend without being trendy.

Casper and [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] are great too, though I prefer [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] and [name_m]Ignacio[/name_m].

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Likewise. It’s funny to my that [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is so accepted and common, while the masculine variation is particularly unheard of. The meaning is so lovely too.
