Your feelings on the name ... Sage

[name]Hi[/name] Berries!
I have been loving [name]Sage[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] lately … I’ve liked [name]Sage[/name] for a long time; but never really thought that I would use it. I’m still not sure I would use it. I wanted to get some feedback regarding using [name]Sage[/name] for a girl … I know unisex names aren’t always liked (generally, I, myself do not like them) … but, I still wanted to get a reading for opinions on this name.

Suggestions for an alternate middle name are of course welcome as well.

So what are your feelings? [name]Do[/name] you like it, hate it … could it work on a professional adult?

I look forward to reading your responses!

I like [name]Sage[/name] as a middle name, it’s got a soft one-syllable blending quality similar to [name]Grace[/name]. But honestly I don’t tend to use even one-syllable names I like very much (and I do like [name]Sage[/name]) as first names.

Mostly I like long first, short middle. But I would use [name]Sage[/name]. I don’t dislike it at all. However, I’m a sucker for botanical/herbal/floral names.

[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Sage[/name] is gorgeous.

[name]Sage[/name]… spelled [name]Saige[/name], is my cousin’s daughter… so when you said it was a unisex name, I was surprised. I’ve always thought of it as a girl’s name. Here are some alternate mns for fun:
[name]Sage[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] ([name]Katherine[/name] [name]Sage[/name] would work too, of course, if you like stripedsocks’ suggestion!)
[name]Sage[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Sage[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Sage[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
Have fun with your name lists!

I really like [name]Sage[/name] for a girl. I consider it more feminine. [name]Sage[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is lovely.

I love [name]Sage[/name]. I love that it’s both a botanical name and one meaning “wisdom”; I love that it’s truly unisex and works equally well for a boy or a girl. It’s been perpetually on my list but never quite reached the top tier.

[name]Sage[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is pretty. I like the previous suggestions of [name]Sage[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Sage[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. I would also suggest [name]Sage[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name], which is my favorite combo - even though [name]Alexandra[/name] isn’t normally a favorite of mine, I think the flow is just beautiful.

I seriously dislike it.
It makes my skin itch, literally. I think because I imagine the smell of [name]Sage[/name] when I hear it, and all.
It’s not a pretty sound, and the plant makes me think of Poison [name]Ivy[/name], yet I have no qualms with [name]Ivy[/name]…weird.

Anyways, I don’t think it’s a nice name for a girl at all, or in general.
I think it could work on a professional adult.

I know a couple who used it for their little girl, and I don’t really like it. It just doesn’t sound pretty when they call her or talk about her. [name]Caroline[/name] is a very pretty name, though. Have you considered [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Sage[/name]?

I used to like this name when I was a teenager. So to me it sounds very much like a teenagers choice. I don’t think it would age well, and speaking of age, I certainly wouldn’t use [name]Sage[/name] as a middle name. It makes it sound like you are asking how old someone is. I loved [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Sage[/name] and my mom pointed it out to me, it blends together and sounds like [name]Elizabeth[/name]'s age. You have several very nice names in your sig, that I personally think would be much better.

I like [name]Sage[/name] alot. But, I tend to like simple yet pretty names more than fancy names. I’d consider it.

I love [name]Sage[/name].

I think it’s lovely, but I do prefer it as a middle name, mainly because I struggle with one syllable first names. I love the meanings and that it’s not common.

I’ve loved [name]Sage[/name] since I was little. And it’s truly unisex, unlike the boy’s names that people claim are unisex
A definetly fem MN like [name]Caroline[/name] is perfect

When I hear [name]Sage[/name], I taste sage! I think this is really weird because I don’t have the same thing with [name]Rosemary[/name] or other herbs… Other than this peculiarity of mine, I like the name [name]Sage[/name]! [name]Even[/name] though it’s unisex, I personally prefer it on a boy as a fn. As a mn I like it for either.

[name]Love[/name] it. I think [name]Sage[/name] is gorgeous. I don’t think I would personally use it as a fn, and I’m not sure why, but I would love to meet a little [name]Sage[/name] out in the real world

I really like it. I think it has a nice sound and look and I like that it’s botanical and means wise. I have a little cousin with this name and she is adorable and feisty. I think it’s a great name.

I think [name]Sage[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is lovely. I don’t tend to go for nature, non-traditional names, but I think this one is really nice.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Sage[/name], don’t love it with [name]Caroline[/name]. I think [name]Alexandra[/name] would be nicer, or [name]Sage[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] or something.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Sage[/name]. I have friends that named their daughter [name]Sage[/name], nn [name]Sage[/name]-y (not sure how they spell it). I also am a big fan of simple and short first names with longer middle names. [name]Sage[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is beautiful!

I prefer [name]Paige[/name] to [name]Sage[/name] myself. [name]Sage[/name] just sounds masculine to me so I like it more for a boy. [name]Saffron[/name] nn Saffy would be a great alternative. [name]Bryony[/name]/[name]Briony[/name] is another I can think of with a botanical theme.

I really like the name [name]Sage[/name]. Has a lovely soft earthy vibe. Fits right into the other botanical names without being too popular. That being said, I tend to like more vintage/old fashioned names like [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name]…ect. [name]Just[/name] not sure if [name]Sage[/name] sounds classy enough to me for some reason. But as a whole, I do like this name.
