Your name crush?

As a name lover, I develop crushes on new names all the time, which I’m sure all you berries do as well! So, what’s your latest name crush? Why do you like it, and how did you find it?

Mine is [name]Romilly[/name]. I ran across it on here the other day and have fallen head over heels for it! I like that it sounds strong and ultra feminine at the same time, and the fact I’d never heard it before.

[name]Molly[/name]

Right now I’m kinda loving [name]Genevieve[/name], pronounced the Celtic way, [name]Gen[/name]-uh-veev. I love that it sounds classic, soft yet strong, not too overused, and I love the nn’s [name]Vivi[/name] and [name]Eve[/name].

Right now, mine is [name]Jasper[/name]. I recently read a book (an excellent book, called The Year of Living Biblically, if anyone is interested) and the author’s son is named [name]Jasper[/name].
I just finished the book yesterday, and upon closing it, I realized how much I had started to love [name]Jasper[/name]. I know, it’s shocking that I didn’t get the name from Twilight. Which is one of the downsides of the name. The other is that my mom says it in a hillbilly accent and says it sounds “redneck or white trash.”

my fav. boy’s name of the moment is [name]Jagger[/name]. My fav. girl’s name of the moment is [name]Tuesday[/name].

I’ve recently fell in love with the name [name]Diana[/name]!

It’s quite uncommon, especially for a little girl and it’s super pretty and also sophisticated.

If you liked the Year of Living Biblically, you should read AJ Jacobs other two books - Yes [name]Man[/name] and the Know It All. They are awesome! And, the Know It All is where he decides on the name [name]Jasper[/name]. I really liked [name]Jasper[/name] after reading those books too!

Oh, and my current name crush is the name [name]Gia[/name] (by itself). I noticed it on the boards here, and even though someone said it was too nicknamey, my daughters’ names are also two syllables and end in ‘a’ ([name]Luna[/name] and [name]Maya[/name]), so I think [name]Gia[/name] would fit.

For boys, my name crushes are [name]Carter[/name] and [name]Axel[/name]. I know [name]Carter[/name] is sort of dated trendy, and [name]Axel[/name] is getting more and more popular, but I just love them both!!!

[name]Hi[/name] There are a few name that I like, but would not nessecarily name my child that.

Girls:
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Cambria[/name]/ [name]Cambrie[/name]
[name]Josie[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]

Boys:
[name]William[/name] ‘[name]Liam[/name]’
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Penn[/name]

I just finished the [name]Brit[/name] HBO series of [name]Robin[/name] Hood, so right now I am loving [name]Robin[/name] for a boy; [name]Rowen[/name], Gwendoly, [name]Marion[/name] have all been on my list for so long! I love the names that usually go with this time period and culture- celtic infusions and beautiful classics.

I love love love [name]Emmett[/name] and [name]Diana[/name]! the fist time i really thought of [name]Emmett[/name] was when i read Twilight but that isn’t why i love it. After reading all the books is when i starting coming to nameberry and really started thinking about names again and realized how much i love it! its kind of an old man name which i think is charming and its so classic. I also love [name]Diana[/name]! its another classic name that is adorable! nothing wrong wiht either of them

Girls:
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Gianna[/name]
[name]Samara[/name]

I like the exotic ones.

Boys:
[name]Seth[/name]
[name]Eliot[/name]
[name]Xavier[/name]

My favorites change a lot, but I’ve always loved [name]Seth[/name].

~[name]Frances[/name]

[name]Quinn[/name] for a boy
and [name]Leatrice[/name] for a girl

[name]Cosette[/name]

no idea why

[name]Rosalie[/name]! Sigh, I’m so in love with her. [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] or [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name] [name]Ruth[/name].

And [name]Griffin[/name] nn [name]Finn[/name], [name]Griffin[/name] [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Cloud[/name] (combo probably won’t happen, but I do have a crush on it!).

OH! My secret crush that I’ll never use is [name]Electra[/name]! SO cool!

my name crushes at the moment are Lexington [name]Felicity[/name] & [name]Montgomery[/name] [name]Chase[/name]. no idea why.

Haha! I love this topic. It seems a little awkward to say you have a crush on a name, but how on earth else can you explain that moment when you sigh and giggle because you just read/wrote a name you like? Um… please someone else have done that so I don’t feel like a creep.

Anyway… right now, for girls, my huge name crushes are [name]Odette[/name] and [name]Hero[/name]. I can’t get my husband on board for either (no surprise) but I love the history behind them. I know they wouldn’t really be accepted nowadays, but I still can’t get over how gorgeous they are.

Usable girls names that I like are [name]Sylvia[/name], [name]Patience[/name], and [name]Beatrice[/name]. I like sort of “out there” names at the moment.

For boys, right now I really love [name]Lucius[/name] and [name]Bertram[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t ask me why, my husband hates it, everyone else seems to cringe when I say it, but I love [name]Bertram[/name], and I think the nn [name]Bram[/name] makes it a viable option. Apparently I’m the only one who thinks so, but I’m okay with that.

I do (I think) have him on board for [name]Lucius[/name], which is a major feat. I think it’s only because it has the nn [name]Luke[/name], which makes it a bit more approachable.

Also, I’d never use it (except maybe for a pet) but I love the name Touchstone. [name]Shakespeare[/name] is so mean to me…giving me all these fantastic names I can’t use. :frowning:

Anyway, thanks for the topic. I’m glad I’m not the only one with name crushes.

[name]Isabel[/name]

To jennie- I do that too! I write down names in pretty cursive and sigh at how lovely they are. I also love [name]Hero[/name]! Wouldn’t have the guts to actually use it though.

I believe my “crush” on [name]Evangeline[/name] has become a full blossomed love affair at this point. My other name infatuations right now are [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], and [name]Jude[/name].
