hi yall! I was just wondering what your “online name” is. It could be a username or an actual name that you use in place of your real name online. or maybe you do use your real name? this just struck me because this is a community of namenerds so your names must be interesting
[name_f]My[/name_f] online “names” are [name_f]Bluebelle[/name_f], [name_f]Moon[/name_f], and sometimes [name_f]Amara[/name_f]. I can’t ever use my real name because it’s way too uncommon/easily recognizable for online safety. I sometimes wish I could tho lol. [name_f]Amara[/name_f] is an anagram for my real name so that’s why I use it. plus love the meaning! so, I’m interested to hear your online names that you use!
Mine is [name_f]Laurie[/name_f]. It was originally [name_f]Laurence[/name_f] but that didn’t really stick.
Interestingly, my username everywhere is some variant of ethelmary but I’ve never gone by any variants of [name_f]Ethel[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f]!
[name_f]My[/name_f] family nn is [name_f]Del[/name_f], so I’ve often been a word smooshed before or after [name_f]Del[/name_f] or [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]!
[name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], and occasionally [name_f]Mari[/name_f] - I’m drawn to M names! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though my legal name doesn’t have a single M in it haha
They’re a bit more than just “online” names, in a way. I don’t like my legal name and I could see myself legally changing it to one of these online names someday.
I’ve had [name_f]Rosy[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] in the past as a username, maybe [name_f]Rosy[/name_f] for short. [name_f]Rosy[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] was an alternative for a tongue twisty name that didn’t fit in many boxes. So I shortened it and lengthened it slightly and that’s how [name_f]Unice[/name_f] was born.
@tallemaja [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] are both sweet names.
I mostly just go by my first name because it’s common enough that I’m not really worried about my safety. I have some old friends who still call me Youssarian / Youssy / Youss though because that was my internet username for almost everything since 2006 I don’t use it much anymore though which is why I like that I have it on Nameberry
That’s what [name_f]Wanda[/name_f] is for me – it has no connection to my real name but it’s what I always enter when something asks for my name online (or even offline for some games).
[name_f]My[/name_f] son named my Bengal [name_m]Milo[/name_m], and when I lost [name_m]Milo[/name_m], I took his name as my online name. It’s the name I use to write much of my fiction under, and since I’m out as nb, I use [name_m]Milo[/name_m] as my name these days.
Mine’s Ró, a nickname for my real name. It’s not the nickname I most often go by in real life. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband calls me Ró sometimes, but he’s the only one. I use a different nickname in most other settings.
I go by [name_f]Mayim[/name_f], which has no real connection to my irl name, but was one of my favorites at the time I joined Nameberry, and now holds special meaning for me. Interestingly enough, I just discovered that it had been a close contender on my parents’ list for me!!
I mostly use my real name which is to common for my taste (Violet, there’s three at my school). but I use some pen names when I post my fanfics. one of them is Ness, I also use [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and sometimes [name_f]Jessica[/name_f].
On my socials I go by AJ, which is just my everyday nn, but most other places online I go by [name_f]Truly[/name_f], [name_m]Tru[/name_m] or TB as shortenings of TrulyBrilliant.
I don’t use it much anymore though which is why I like that I have it on Nameberry
