[name_m]Hi[/name_m] y’all! I’m thinking of using the name [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], because it has a dear meaning to me, but the ‘ror’ sound kind of throws me off? But I love the way it looks, what it means, the -ra ending, but it stunts me a little bit when I say it
I would likely use [name_f]Aura[/name_f] as a nickname, but what do you think of the full name [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]? What does it remind you of? What middle name would elevate the ethereal, majestic vives of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]?
I invite you to sell me on using the name [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is beautiful! There are so many lovely associations- the princess, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] Borealis, and the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] goddess of dawn, as some examples!
Maybe you would like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] as a path to the nickname [name_f]Aura[/name_f]?
It’s got a very magical quality & soulful sound. I always picture the aurora borealis when I hear the name so I also envision it as a very exquisitely colored name. I’m a fan of the nickname [name_f]Aura[/name_f] much more I am the usual nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. I also like [name_f]Rora[/name_f] a lot too, it’s a bit of a different direction to go in.
Ultimate princess name she’s ever so girly, has strong princess feels, seems to ooze drama and I think any little girl would like to be called [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. I like the association with the outdoors through northern lights along with the sweet nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. I think [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] feels fashionable and I have noticed that there has been an influx of Aurora’s being born which indicates that a lot of people enjoy the name just like myself.
I love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], I think it is the ultimate [name_f]Princess[/name_f] name. [name_f]Aura[/name_f] is also pretty and a sweet nickname. I think that ror sound is cute, and it opens the nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u] up for sale!
i think of Sleeping Beauty, as well as the northern lights! aura is a fun nickname, and there’s also rory for a more gender neutral option. i do find aurora hard to say, though, which is what puts me off it. i love brynn’s suggestion of aurelia “aura”!
I find this name reminds me more of a lion than a princess. I can’t stop hearing that ‘ror’ sound. I’d consider [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] though. It can be pronounced different ways. You don’t have to pronounce it as Aur-ray-lia. You can say Aur-ee-lia if you prefer. Otherwise, why not have [name_f]Aura[/name_f]? It’s a perfectly legitimate name.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is bright, ethereal and stylish, princessy with a bit of earthiness and toughness. It feels elegant but not fussy. It reminds me of the aurora borealis, the [name_f]Disney[/name_f] [name_f]Princess[/name_f] and just Instagramable/stylish-name-vibes?
[name_f]Pretty[/name_f], well known but not overly used. Difficult to pronounce. [name_f]Aura[/name_f] is an intuitive nickname but is used in the medical field.
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name. She is softness and sass, lion and lamb, giggles and go get 'em all rolled into one amazing kid. I could not picture her with any other name.
People warned up her name would be difficult for people to pronounce and guess what? [name_m]Zero[/name_m] issues so far; she is frequently complimented on her name. At most her baby cousins called her “Woahwa” which has evolved into “Rora” as they’ve gotten older and honestly it’s adorable.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] holds a special place in my heart andd i think its positively lovely! [name_f]Aura[/name_f] works and is a really cool nn others could be
[name_f]Rora[/name_f] (hard R thing again but it could work)
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_f]Aura[/name_f] (definitely my favorite)
The name feels very egant while still being magical sounding and i love the thought of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] Borealis, gorgeous heavenly light!
