We would name her [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] but call her [name_f]Etta[/name_f] most of the time. [name_f]My[/name_f] name functions the same way, and I’ve always like the flexibility of having a formal name.
This is one of my favorites too, but my husband isn’t so keen on Winifred
@lillian85 [name_f]My[/name_f] name does too and I will use it in full in professional settings, but I also don’t love it. Close friends and family use my preferred nickname, but I always wished both were a little more unique and spunky. I think that’s where my preference for [name_f]Etta[/name_f] comes from! But [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] is beautiful too!!
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
I’d pick either [name_f]Etta[/name_f] option - both are lovely. I’m of the opinion not to give a formal name you’ll never use just to give it… but it sounds like you might be the opposite and in that case- [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] seems like the best choice for you.
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] gets my vote.
I do like the idea of a long formal name. I love the tradition of it.
This is a small plus but, I think in the age of the Internet, it’s nice to have options in the off chance your name is ever attached to something you don’t want it to be on the Internet. This happened to a cousin (wrong place/wrong time in college) and being able to use her formal name keeps it from being the first thing that comes up when googled (before she can elaborate/explain). Again, a very small plus, but she was really grateful for it.
I love [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and am a big fan of long names with nicknames so [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] gets my vote. I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle, I find it a little boring since its such a common pick for the middle, so [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] would be second choice followed by [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and then [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] last.
