Which spelling do you prefer? And what do you think of the name in general?
I would say these differently- ee-VETTE versus eye-VETTE
I like them both!
I think I prefer [name_f]Ivette[/name_f]. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as a nickname is lovely!
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. I never heard [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] and I don’t care for it.
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is a fun name.
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] just looks wrong to me and makes me want to pronounce it “eye-vet”.
In general, the name is nms, but I think it’s fine for others. ![]()
I prefer [name_f]Ivette[/name_f]!
To me personally [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] doesn’t look, like, phonetically possible, I’ve always pronounced it ya-vet with the y sound in my head even though I know that can’t be right and I don’t like the sound of that.
I had no idea how it was pronounced before I read this post and I still am not totally sure how tbh
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f].
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]!
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]! Very cute
ivette is fun ! my favorite in general is iveta ![]()
I prefer the look of [name_f]Ivette[/name_f]! Also like [name_f]Evette[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]!
i like ivette better ! it feels more like a quirky, vintage choice, while yvette is very dated to me. i also love ivy as a nickname !
I’ve always loved this name! I personally prefer the [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] spelling, because [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] just looks weird to me.![]()
I think either spelling could work, your geography could factor into the choice as well. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is lovely and metropolitan, but could lead to spelling issues in certain areas, where [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] may be a better choice. I think I’d go with [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] personally, but [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is certainly just as lovely!
I would pronounced these differently!
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f] would be ee-vet, and [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] would be ih-vet!
I prefer [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] either way, [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] feels more dated to me.
I like both spellings, but I think it would depend on what your preferred pronunciation is, as y and i may be pronounced differently in different languages/by different people. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] seems more familiar and better-used in the United States, at least, but I’m not sure about other countries. As far as the name goes, I like it fine! It has some sounds in it that I don’t hear all the time, which makes it feel fresh.
I say them differently as well. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is yih-VET but the y is very soft. [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] instinctively is eye-VET but I prefer ee-VET. Overall, I prefer [name_f]Ivette[/name_f] to [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] i think.
