Currently have one daughter - Noelle Denise - and have been struggling coming up with a name that I love as much as I love Noelle. Something feminine, uncommon but not unusual or difficult to spell.
Is Yvette too strange of a name? If I wanted to use “Evie” as a nickname for her (since “Yves” and “Eve” are pronounced the same way), would that make sense? Would you spell it Yvie then?
If it helps, here are the other names we’re considering: Alexis, Juliette, Margeurite, Violet and Yasmine.
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f] would be a lovely choice and fits well as a sister to [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. I like the international vibe and the fact that it isn’t overly used, but is recognizable. [name_f]My[/name_f] next choices would be [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], although not sure of a nickname for it, [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I really like [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] too but only used as the full name rather than [name_u]Alex[/name_u] as a nickname, [name_f]Evie[/name_f] works as a nickname for [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] but not sure of the best spelling for it, maybe just [name_f]Evie[/name_f]?
You can spell [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] as [name_f]Evette[/name_f] if you wanted too! And then it seems like [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is intuitive. I really like the name.
I think [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is a great name, and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] feels like a natural nickname. With nicknames I would say spell however you want, it’s not going to be on any formal forms or applications. Personally I would spell it [name_f]Evie[/name_f], just so teachers would know without a doubt how to pronounce it, but if Yvie feels better to you, than go with Yvie.
I love [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. [name_f]Evie[/name_f] makes sense as a nickname. I’d probably spell it Yvy but I also know how weird that looks I just think It’s fun to write…might be a pain for other’s to read.
I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] sound really nice together. I’d probably spell [name_f]Evie[/name_f] regularly I love that as a nickname for [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is a very nice name. I like!
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is lovely !!! [name_f]Evie[/name_f] works as a nn !
I second what’s already been mentioned, if you wanted to make the [name_f]Evie[/name_f] spelling more intuitive then you could go for [name_f]Evette[/name_f] !
[name_f]Ivette[/name_f] is quite popular in my country. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] is stunning. Names ending in “ette” have this uniquely elegant sound about them.
Funny story! I was actually trying to create characters for fun a few days ago and I chose [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] Nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] fits so beautifully with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] too!
