Yvette

Thoughts on the name [name]Yvette[/name]?

Very feminine and pretty

[name]How[/name] would you pronounce it though?

Its pronounced EE-vette which is very pretty but I think I prefer [name]Yvonne[/name] slightly better.

I love all the “Yv-” names: [name]Yvette[/name], [name]Yvonne[/name] and [name]Yvaine[/name]. All of them are so girly, yet strong at the same time. I also love [name]Yolande[/name] (the French version of [name]Yolanda[/name], which I find just okay).

[name]Yvette[/name] is very pretty, and feminine. I also like [name]Yara[/name], not sure how everyone else pronounces it but I pronounce it Yahr-ah.

I like [name]Yvette[/name], I prefer the [name]Evette[/name] spelling myself, but that’s because my grandma’s name was [name]Yvonne[/name] and I’m not for the whole name after you family thing so [name]Evette[/name] makes it seem more different…

[name]Love[/name] it, it’s a fresher take on the [name]Ava[/name]/[name]Eva[/name] trend. It’s on my list because I haven’t met anyone under 50 with it

I love it, especially with the nn Yvie (like [name]Evie[/name]).

I pronounce it differently than sunshine kid, though. I put the emphasis on the second syllable, so it’s ee-VET rather than EE-vet.

I don’t know why Nameberry says [name]Yvette[/name] is a variation of [name]Yvonne[/name], theyre all variations of [name]Yvo[/name], but [name]Yvette[/name] is diminutive of [name]Yves[/name], [name]Yvonne[/name] is diminutive of [name]Yvon[/name]

but [name]Yvette[/name] and [name]Yvonne[/name] are “neighboring” names not directly related. I think the name is OK and nice sounding but like the nameberry entry says I don’t think it’s ready for a comeback, it’s very dated imo.
