I love this name but there are so many versions and I can’t decide which one is better.
[name]Zane[/name], [name]Zain[/name], Zaine, Zayn, or [name]Zayne[/name]? Which do you prefer?
Many of the others are Muslim variants; the one in use by English-speakers is [name]Zane[/name]. [name]Zain[/name] and Zayn both mean “handsome, graceful” in Arabic, and it’s a very common name in the Arab world & Pakistan.
[name]Zayne[/name] and Zaine are more elaborate versions of [name]Zane[/name]. I think the extra letters are unnecessary and clutter it up-- I prefer [name]Zane[/name] by far.
I prefer the simple [name]Zane[/name]. 
It depends on which history you’re going for, though–I’ve heard [name]Zane[/name] is a variation of [name]John[/name] (particularly appealing to me, as my brother, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather are all [name]John[/name]!), while [name]Zain[/name] is an Arabic (?) name, meaning “beautiful” (I think? Sorry, don’t quote me on that!). Zayn [name]Malik[/name]'s name is originally spelled [name]Zain[/name], so I would think Zayn is a form of [name]Zain[/name], while [name]Zayne[/name] just seems to be a phonetic spelling of [name]Zane[/name]. I wouldn’t know about Zaine. Anyway, I like [name]Zane[/name] best. It’s quirky, but straightforward. Kind of like [name]Jane[/name], but for boys.
I agree with [name]Blade[/name].
I vastly prefer [name]Zane[/name]! It’s super stream lined and handsome and quirky. If I had to go with one of the others, it’d be [name]Zain[/name].
@ashley-- you’re right. [name]Zain[/name] and Zayn are the Arabic names, just transcribed with a different vowel. There is a guttural stop in between the two vowels in Arabic, so it’s not pronounced exactly like [name]Zane[/name] (it’s Za-uh-ayn-- like you have to catch your breath in the middle). The beautiful name [name]Zayna[/name], on the other hand, is pronounced exactly as it’s spelt. [It’s my sister-in-law’s name, and she is the only person I’ve ever met in my life who truly adores her own name, wouldn’t change it for the world, and has felt so at every single stage of her development].
I love simple [name]Zane[/name]. The next best spelling is [name]Zain[/name].
I like [name]Zane[/name] the best. It’s much better to just keep it simple and straightforward.
I’ve only ever seen it [name]Zane[/name] and that’s what I prefer. The others just name it confusing
Zayn and [name]Zane[/name]
[name]Zane[/name]. That’s the most traditional way.
[name]Zane[/name] is my preference
If someone told me that was their name I would spell it [name]Zane[/name]

Always keep spellings as simple as possible is my advice so I would choose [name]Zane[/name].
I went to high school with a Zayn and a [name]Zain[/name]. Of all the spellings you listed, I think [name]Zain[/name] is the most versatile one- a brilliant choice for a mixed-culture family in the English-speaking world. [name]Zane[/name] makes it more cowboy, for obvious reasons; Zayn, just at the moment, is all about a certain boy band (and I just plain prefer the [name]Zain[/name] transcription); [name]Zayne[/name]- is [name]Wayne[/name] with a Z?
I like [name]Zain[/name] and [name]Zane[/name] equally.
