Zelie as a nickname- help with full name

I know Zelie is a full French name but I love the idea of it for a nickname. Other than Azalea any other longer name ideas? My other daughters are Eliana (Ella) and Adeline (Addie).

Might be a stretch but [name_f]Zillah[/name_f]?

[name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], Zelinda, [name_f]Gizelle[/name_f], [name_f]Raizel[/name_f], or [name_f]Zelena[/name_f] maybe?

[name_f]Selena[/name_f] immediately came to mind. Otherwise I’d say [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and maybe [name_f]Selma[/name_f]?

[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] doesn’t work because…

  1. It would be a source of bullying, à la TLOZ.
  2. It just doesn’t work with siblings.

I know the berries, they are literally all going to suggest [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] lol.

literally who would bully someone because their name is Zelda? not only will TLOZ be dated in ten years (enough for kids to not have played it, most likely), but Zelda is a well-liked character from my understanding?

i like the idea of Zelda nn Zelie, but i agree it doesn’t fit with Eliana and Adeline. Azelie is my favorite option w/ Eliana and Adeline!

I know a [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] who gets bullied for it. Also, what the 10 years before that? ANd even if it’s not actively played I’m sure it will still be well-known.

what revere is saying is that being associated with that character won’t be enough to cause serious harm to the child.

little kids don’t often bully others for their names, if ever. I’ve known children with far stranger names who were never bullied because small children just don’t bully each other over names :man_shrugging:

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] is my favorite full name option for [name_f]Zelie[/name_f], although it’s maybe a little bit of a stretch!

Zendaya could work but it might be a bit of a stretch. There is Zelda and Hazel and Giselle/Gizelle (or any other spelling)

Azelie, perhaps. I like [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], really! [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], [name_f]Zella[/name_f], [name_f]Rozelyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Zelia[/name_f] are great.
