Zenith?

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce this name? What are your associations?
Thanks!

Zenith is a word that means peak or height, as in the time/period when something is at its most successful. (got that definition from [name_m]Oxford[/name_m] Dictionary, haha) It’s pronounced exactly as it looks.

I do think it has a cool sound, but I don’t think it’d be easy to carry a name like that! I can’t imagine Zenith on a guy who wasn’t really intelligent, popular and generally multitalented.

I say Zee-nith. It just reminds me of Zenith electronics that were big in the 90s when I was little. They were big before then though, that’s just the earliest I remember. We had lots of Zenith electronics…

Oh okay maybe the pronunciation can vary then… I say zen-ith. The first syllable like the word zen.

I say [name_f]Zee[/name_f]-nith because that’s how the electronics brand pronounced it on their commercials. I’m not sure if that’s the ā€œcorrectā€ pronunciation though.

I would say zee-nith also because the only association I have is the name brand. [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of people owned Zenith televisions. I personally can not picture it as a person’s name.

I hadn’t heard of the electronics company but I would still pronounce it ā€˜[name_f]Zee[/name_f]-nith’

I would associate the name Zenith with televisions.

Okay just looked up the pronunciation, it can be either zee-nith or zen-ith. Zenith Definition & Meaning | Dictionary.com It’s probably one of those UK/American things… [name_f]Canada[/name_f] falls on both sides of the spectrum depending on the word.
