Zephyr?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! This is my first time posting. I’m having my second boy on Friday and we haven’t settled on a name yet. My first son is [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] and we call him [name_m]Milo[/name_m].

I am drawn to [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] because I love how unique it is and the meaning behind it (greek god of the west wind who ushers in [name_f]Spring[/name_f]).

I am concerned it’s too out there, what are your thoughts?

The middle name I like is [name_m]Sol[/name_m]. I originally wanted [name_m]Sol[/name_m] as first name but I don’t like spelling it out as [name_m]SOL[/name_m] because of the acronym.

My safe option is [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u], but I’m really torn.

Thank you for reading this!

I definitely think using it in the middle is a safe bet, but I think you could be daring and use it as a first! I like the idea of [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_m]Sol[/name_m]. I think that’s just like out of this world as a combination. Great taste!

I love the meaning, and agree it’s really unique! That’s a difficult decision, although I’ll say I love the combo of [name_m]Milo[/name_m] and [name_u]Sam[/name_u], so I guess my vote goes to [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u].

Sure, it’s different, but in my opinion definitely familiar/recognizable enough that people will know how to pronounce it - one of those names where people will think, “oh, I’ve never met a [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] before, but I have heard of it as a name,” (rather than people never having heard of this as a hypothetical name before). I say go for it!

As for [name_m]Sol[/name_m] - is [name_m]Saul[/name_m] pronounced the same way?

[name_m]Sol[/name_m] is pronounced more like “soul”. It means peace in Hebrew and sun in Spanish.

My husband likes [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. He thinks [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is too much with [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u].

Thank you everyone for your advice!

Oh my gosh, my little cousin is [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] [name_m]Sol[/name_m]! He’s 8 and it absolutely suits him to a T. I completely adore and love it, such a beautiful name.
