Hello
We are having a second thought on our unborn child’s name and I am seeking for your opinions!
It is hard enough to come up with one name but I have to come up with two because we are Korean.
I thought the name [name_u]Zion[/name_u] is perfect because my wife wanted to name him with a something meaningful word or a person from the bible… and Zi-on can be used as a Korean name.
9 out of 10 people don’t like the name and they think we are trying too hard.
now we are having a second thought about naming our first boy [name_u]Zion[/name_u]…
I think [name_u]Zion[/name_u] is usable. It’s short, easy to spell and familiar enough a word to most people that it shouldn’t cause too many problems. It does feel super religious to me but if that’s not a problem for you, why not?
All of your options are good but I personally like [name_u]Zion[/name_u], we are Christians and that holds a personal connection for our family. Zy is a great nn and I love how it can be a Korean name for you as well. This is the issue of telling friends and family what you’re calling baby before its on the birth cert, people think that means they can weigh in, and people are very opinionated and rarely happy unless they specifically get to name the child.
[name_u]Zion[/name_u] is my son’s middle name so I am obviously a fan. [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], and [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] are all fine but don’t pack as much punch as [name_u]Zion[/name_u]. Go with what you love and ignore the rest.
I absolutely love the name [name_u]Zion[/name_u], and it sounds perfect for you. I don’t see it as too far out or “trying too hard”. I think it is a handsome, underused name. Follow your heart, and go with what you really love and want.
All the best.
