What do you guys think of this name? I like it, but I don’t know if it’s too girly sounding for a adult woman type of thing. It’s really cute and the more I say the more I like it.
Zsazsa

Zsazsa
[name_m]How[/name_m] is it pronounced?
Very tied to [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor, at least for me. [name_m]Even[/name_m] more so than [name_f]Madonna[/name_f] is tied to [name_f]Madonna[/name_f]. I also do not personally care for the name or sound. Sorry.
It’s pronounced zhaw-zhaw.
no idea who zsazsa gabor is but okay.
but…
I’m certain [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] (correct spelling) Gabor is the only famous bearer of the name, and it wasn’t her actual name - it was a nickname for [name_f]Sari[/name_f].
I don’t think it works as a name, and I don’t recommend using a name that’s so famously tied to one person, especially when you’re personally not familiar with that person. To me it’s akin to naming your child [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] without knowing who [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f] is.
I agree if you don’t know who Zsa Zsa Gabor is you should maybe reconsider. Because I can pretty much gaurentee 90% of people relate the name to her. (Assuming youre in the US. Not sure if shes known internationally.)So, at the very least, familiarize yourself with her and make sure you’re okay with that association. My son’s name is Lennon which obviously most people associate with John Lennon. I don’t think names need to be dismissed just because they are very associated with a celebrity but I do think the parents should make sure they will be okay with the comparison that will surely be made.
That said I do think it’s an interesting name. Not one I’d personally use but I think I’d be happy to meet a Zsa Zsa at a playground.
I only think of [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor. Wouldn’t use it and don’t like the sound at all.
I second everything leafsgirl44 said. Especially in the United States, [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor was and is a showbiz icon. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though she was popular in the time of my grandparents, I am quite young and made the connection immediately, as I believe most people will. Some find her a bit of an objectionable figure, as another note. I think the name [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] is cute and distinctive, but it might be cumbersome in adult life, and is very, very much tied to the public figure.
Seconding everything @llbaby22 and @danakatherine said.
My first thought was [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor as well. Not necessarily a deal breaker but something to think about.
Like so many others here, I immediately thought of [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor. She was iconic… but maybe not in the way you’d want your kid to be. I’m sure the younger generation wouldn’t make the connection but the older ones might raise an eyebrow.
Not a fan.
I do agree with [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor. however its mimicking sound of zsa and zsa that make it too nicknamy for me. (not a fan of [name_f]Coco[/name_f] for the same reason)
I have seen it used as a nickname for [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], Anastaszia, and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. I think it could work for Aleszandra or sarah. If those names are traditional, maybe Zambia, zala, or zinnia. You could even have a made up name like Zsala or Zsalee which although not my style feels more like a name than [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f].
I agree with PPs. I’m not American and probably younger thah you, but I know who [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor was and associate [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] with her.
Besides, I’m afraid a woman with this name might not be taken seriously.
Completely agree with @moonstone above. I don’t care for the name.
I think it’s fine as a nickname but would sound strange as a formal name.
I had no idea the name was so tied to [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] [name_f]Zsa[/name_f] Gabor, even though I have heard of her. My first association is actually the cat in [name_m]Hector[/name_m]'s House.
I think it’s a sweet name, but it comes across as quite sentimental and childish as a full name, and very Hungarian. I would only use it as a diminutive for [name_f]Susanna[/name_f].
I wasnt actually going to name her it. i was just wondering what you think, thats why i asked jeez
Chill. Nobody here is coming from a place of hostility, I promise. You asked what they thought and they told you.
Personally I think it’s cute but only as a nickname.
