Year 7 – We found out that [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] needs to get glasses. He’s not very happy with this, but I’m sure he’ll get used to them. I’ve had mine for almost twenty years.
Year 8 – We decided to try for another child before our three munchkins get too big. I fell pregnant in the second month, but we suffered an early miscarriage. I’m not sure I’m ready to try again soon.
Year 9 – Becoming a midwife was my dream. But now, after years of doing the job for real, I’m a bit tired of it. We talked it over and we decided that we can afford me becoming a stay-at-home mum and home-schooling our kids.

Year 14 – We still can’t get over our rabbit passing away half a year ago. [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]’s working on his book. It’s some specialist literature I don’t even attempt to understand.
Year 15 – [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] decided to join a local football team. It’s all about football now and, honestly, I’m fed up with listening about it. But the practice routine serves him right!
Year 16 – Now, when kids are older, spending all my time at home seems pointless. I get a part-time job as a nanny, but I consider restarting my career as a midwife.
Year 17 – We decided to get another dog – this time by adoption, not purchase. It’s four-years-old cross-breed. We named her [name_f]Delta[/name_f].

Year 3: [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is expecting again. She gardens all during the pregnancy, making a lovely herb garden in the back. [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] loves playing in the mud along side her. By the time her harvest has come in, she’s given birth to [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_m]Owens[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u].
Year 4: [name_u]Elias[/name_u] gets a promotion to a new position in his company, which allows him to invest more creativity in the work place.
Year 5: The promotion and the growing family encourage a move within the city. The [name_m]Owens[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] family moves into a colorful house just outside of [name_f]Miami[/name_f] where the schools are nice and there’s room for the family to grow.
Year 6: [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] convinces the family he’s ready for a pet, and a hamster named Chicharon gets a nice clean cage in his room. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] ends up caring for him most of the time.
Year 7: [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] ends up developing a food allergy she can’t put her finger on. During her frequent visits to the doctor, she discovers she’s pregnant! After much trial and error, she discovers her allergy to eggplants, which started growing in the garden earlier that year. A little girl, [name_u]Rosario[/name_u] ‘[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]’ [name_f]Teodora[/name_f] [name_m]Owens[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u], is born soon after.
Year 8: One of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]’s nephews from Puerto [name_m]Rico[/name_m] moves in with the family after a big falling out with his parents over his sexuality. [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] [name_m]Vicente[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] becomes a member of the family and is legally adopted when he turns 14.
Year 9: The family just keeps growing. [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]’s parents move to the states as well, and settle ten minutes away from [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. While it’s certainly a big change for the family, it’s nice to have the extra hands. To help them transition, [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] moves in with them for a few months. The kids go home to [name_f]Soledad[/name_f] “Abuelita” [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] and [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] “Papito” [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u]'s house after school a few days every week, and Abuelita keeps baby [name_u]Rosario[/name_u] during the day.
Year 10: [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]’s family’s renewed presence in the home brings back some of her childhood memories, and she takes up sewing with her mother like she did when she was a pre-teen. When she discovers she’s pregnant, she’s able to distract herself from the somewhat difficult pregnancy with the mountain of baby clothes she’s making. Abuelita gives additional lessons to fill in what [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] has forgotten, and [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] even gets involved. [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_m]Owens[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] has more quilts, socks, and dresses than she could possibly need.
Year 11: [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] joins the girl scouts. The number of cookies the family consumes nearly quadruples. She also gains a love for the outdoors the family attributes to all the gardening her mother did during her pregnancy.
Year 12: [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] leaves for college! He enrolls as a freshman only a few hours away in Gainesville, but the family misses him desperately. In the emotional moments, [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] are convinced to adopt a dog, a pitbull looking mutt they name [name_f]Martes[/name_f],
Year 13: [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] has balanced raising kids and her job rather well, but hasn’t taken a raise or looked for a new position in a while because of how hectic things at home have been. With [name_f]Celia[/name_f] starting Pre-K, [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] out of the house, and her parents around to help, she leaves her admin position and starts getting her real estate license.
Year 14: All the talk about houses and the changing dynamics of the family encourage everyone to pick up and move to what you hope will be your final home. With [name_u]Elias[/name_u]’ skills in architecture and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]’s new real estate skills, they build a new dream house with a in-law cottage on the grounds and all move in together.
Year 15: It’s been years since the family has returned to Puerto [name_m]Rico[/name_m], so everyone picks up and goes to visit San [name_m]Juan[/name_m] for three weeks over the summer. [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] ends up staying with an aunt for the whole summer.
Year 16: [name_u]Elias[/name_u]’ parents come down to [name_f]Florida[/name_f] to retire. While they don’t live in [name_f]Miami[/name_f], having them closer makes both [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] feels like the kids have more access to the other side of their family history and culture. [name_f]Janelle[/name_f] and [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_m]Owens[/name_m] are glad to have more interactions with their grandkids. [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] graduates from University of [name_f]Florida[/name_f] and moves back to [name_f]Miami[/name_f] to work for a local paper.
Year 17: In his junior year, [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] gets excited and starts a fashion club at his high school. His sharp sartorial eye and his enthusiasm for fashion really pay off, and at the end of the school year the club holds a fashion show of all the things they’ve designed. [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] wants to study fashion in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] or [name_u]California[/name_u].
Year 18: [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] decide that next year they will be moving to [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] together—[name_m]Tomas[/name_m] for a job working for a late night news show, and [name_m]Ismael[/name_m] to study design. [name_u]Rosario[/name_u] becomes obsessed with the idea of moving to [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] too, and decides she wants to get involved in acting. She gets the role of [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] in the school production of [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m] and kills.
Year 19: [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] thought they were done on the kids front, but [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]’s lethargy and queasiness turns out to be signs of another pregnancy. They end up having a little boy, much to [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Ismael[/name_m]’s delight (they are tired of being so outnumbered in the family). [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Alvaro[/name_m] [name_m]Owens[/name_m] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] is certain to be the last in the family, but is a welcome addition.
Year 20: [name_m]Tomas[/name_m] meets a great guy, Suraj Hassonjee in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] and very quickly decides they want to get married. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] walk him down the aisle together.

Year Eight: [name_f]Cora[/name_f] joins a kids gymnastics team. She also starts begging for a sister, and [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_u]Toby[/name_u] agree and start trying for another baby. They end up with another boy! They name him [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u].
Year Nine: [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] discovers that he needs to start wearing glasses. At first he’s upset but his siblings cheer him up, and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] deals with anyone who teases him about them at school.
Year Ten: [name_f]Cora[/name_f] wins an award for her gymnastics. Shortly after [name_f]Mila[/name_f] gives birth to another baby, this time finally another girl! [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is ecstatic. They name her [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]. [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] starts school
Year [name_u]Eleven[/name_u]: The kids start begging for a dog, and the family adopts a 2 year old [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] named [name_f]Lola[/name_f].
Year Twelve: The family take a trip to visit [name_u]Toby[/name_u]’s family! His parents finally get to meet their grandchildren, as all the kids come with them. They stay for a week over school holidays.
Year Thirteen: [name_f]Mila[/name_f] takes up painting after discovering she’s actually very good at it! The kids love her paintings, even if not many of them are patient enough to pose for them! [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] starts school.
Year Fourteen: [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_u]Toby[/name_u] try for another baby and end up pregnant with twins! She later gives birth to one boy and one girl, and they name them [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] and [name_m]Westley[/name_m].
Year Fifteen: [name_f]Mila[/name_f] gets a promotion and [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] starts school.
Year Sixteen: [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is a bridesmaid in her little sister’s wedding! [name_u]Toby[/name_u] and all of the kids come with her. The kids enjoy all the attention they get from their relatives.
Year Seventeen: [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_u]Toby[/name_u] decide to redo their house using the extra money coming from [name_f]Mila[/name_f]’s promotion. They add some more space and bedrooms so that none of the kids need to share anymore.

Year Nineteen: [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] joins a soccer team.The twins start school the same year that [name_f]Cora[/name_f] graduates!
