Updating my quartet of girls!
Ingrid Elena Josephine - “Jehovah increases the fair, shining light”
This one is just my forever favorite name, like, ever! I fell in love with Ingrid after playing Criminal Case. She has such a melodious quality for me. Elena means shining light - she is the light of my life, changing it for the better. Josephine is a name that I adore, and an everyday reminder that blessings might appear and increase when you least expected. She is a strong, witty, and grounded fair girl with the most gorgeous blue eyes.
Cecilia Ruby Philomena - “blind lover of strength and ruby”
Another gaming franchise, another top 3 name for me! My first encounter with Cecilia was through the Papa’s Gameria series - she made her debut in the first time management game! Though her name might mean “blind”, I see this name in a totally different perspective. Ruby is my birthstone, and red is one of my favorite colours, so she is a direct honor for myself. Philomena is after Princess Celestia’s pet phoenix in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, appearing in season 1, episode 22 - I recommend you to watch it! I imagine a brunette who hates losing, but knows how to recover afterwards, holding onto hope even in bad times.
Cordelia Honey Thalassa - “heart and daughter of the sea of honey”
Her heart is full of sea, yet she is as sweet as honey. Cordelia was one of the names I discovered pre-Nameberry. I used it as one of my twins’ names in the game Village Life (I miss that game so much!) - Ophelia and Cordelia. The ever-sweet Honey is one I thought would flow well with Cordelia. Thalassa is the Greek word for “sea”, and the song “Ah THALASSA” by Marina Satti (whose name means “of the sea”) made me fall in love with her even more!
Zelda Beatrix Wednesday - “gray fighting maid who brings happiness on Woden’s day”
Another pre-Nameberry discovery, yet one Nameberry made me appreciate it more, Zelda reminds me of the main protagonist of the gaming franchise of the same name. I want her to know that the true strength lies in her, and only when she stays true to herself will it show as bright as the sun. Beatrix brings me happiness, just as her meaning indicates, every time I see her. The best association I can think of is Beatrix Hughes from one of @GoldenNebula88’s NTB games, whose middle name I equally love (courtesy of @BeccaRhubarb). Wednesday, as a baby name, was brought to my attention through The Addams Family, but I associate it with my favorite professor in university, who was born on a Wednesday.
