Unfortunately, [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] really seems to be gaining popularity. Which is a real shame because I have loved that name for so long but I don’t want her to be one of a few [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]’s in her class. I had [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] on my list for a while but just recently took it off because it’s gained so much popularity. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is another one that unfortunately has gained a lot of popularity. It’s been one of my top names for a while but I keep hearing it be used more and more.

I just went through my list this morning and reorganized it and got rid of a few! For boys I let go [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] and [name_u]Hayes[/name_u]. I wasn’t feeling the S ending as much. For girls I let go of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ida[/name_f]. I worry about any kind of [name_m]Cor[/name_m]- starting names with Coronavirus happening. [name_f]Ida[/name_f] just isn’t feeling exciting to me anymore.

Delilah. I heard it in the song Hey There [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] many years ago and always thought it was such a beautiful and whimsical name. [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] has always been a favorite of mine. I never understood why it isn’t more popular than it is.

Similarly [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]: ‘a pearl’ to me doesn’t just mean a pretty thing, but a pearl of wisdom, or when you think about literal pearls, the ability to turn pain and hardship into something beautiful.

- Guilty pleasure: Mersea - pronounced Mer-zee, like the place in [name_f]England[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], love the character from [name_m]Pan[/name_m]’s Labyrinth and the [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] Merchant song, but [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]’s is a bit too tragic. [name_u]Or[/name_u] as a kid, Istari, after the Istari (wizards) from LotR. But now for me Istari is so GP it’s not really on my list.

- Tag a [name_u]Berry[/name_u] with names of a very similar style to you @chloelae - I was surprised to discover that her two daughters’ names were 2 of the top 3 we went into hospital with when naming our own daughter, AND that both her daughters’ middles were in our top 7 (and one we pretty much used for our daughter)!
- Tag a [name_u]Berry[/name_u] with OPPOSITE style to you, but whose names you love anyway @Rosebeth - way too “out there” for my usual style (plus Icelandic names which aren’t my heritage), but gorgeous bold choices with a beautiful flow to them.
- Tag a [name_u]Berry[/name_u] whose names you admire from afar, but rarely speak to I don’t often speak to anyone! But @SofiaSweden and @may.rose both have some gorgeous combos on their user cards.

- What do you think of alliterative names? I don’t really like them. I don’t think they’re a bad thing if just two names that parents happened to really like or be meaningful, but I don’t understand doing it deliberately.
- Do name meanings matter to you? Yes. Particularly being personally meaningful, but I think etymological meanings can sort of matter too.
- What’s your opinion on traditionally masculine names for girls, and traditionally feminine names for boys? [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t mind at all, though personally I’d be nervous to give a boy a particularly girly/frilly name, just because society doesn’t seem to be ‘there’ yet.
- Does name popularity influence your name decisions? Yes, I steer clear of top 10 and would prefer to be clear of top 50. SO disappointing to have been a name nerd since childhood, and then reach the having kids stage and find that so much of what I like is the same as everyone else!
- How much do other [name_u]Berry[/name_u] opinions influence your name decisions? Not much, but the suggestions of other berries can be hugely helpful, as can their reasoning for liking or not liking names!

Makes absolute sense if the family has a cultural link to the non-[name_f]English[/name_f] name. But kinda odd (and cultural appropriation?) if they chose it without any link to that culture. -

- FIRST name you can remember loving? [name_f]Elysia[/name_f], and [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] when I didn’t realise it was pronounced “Ashlinn” (love that ‘ai’ sound like [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], [name_f]Elaina[/name_f], etc).
- Cutest matching names for twins? I’d just give twins their own names as I would any siblings.
