Audrey vs. Iris which one would you choose if you had to choose one?

Right now these are our top two choices for girls.

Which one would you choose and why?

I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but not a fan of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (she sounds geeky and middle-aged to me). Easy choice!

Although I like both, I would probably choose [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. And I like how [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] sound together.

Personally I love both, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] reminds me of my niece’s name [name_f]Eris[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] just sounds pretty to me.

Easy! [name_m]Both[/name_m] these names were on my middle list, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] made the short list so that’s my answer. I agree that [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] go together better since they are both classic names. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is totally not geeky and middle aged though! It’s popular in the US, #41! Definitely not middle aged, personally I find it spunky and elegant at the same time.

Hard to say —*they are both lovely names — but I prefer the elegance and the English-ness of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], especially next to [name_m]Jack[/name_m].

I would choose [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] over [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is absolutely perfect with [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. So, [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].

I would go [name_f]Iris[/name_f] in an instant.

To me [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is elegant, slim, more serious than most florals, not too cute but not too dark and depressing. The mythology connection is a plus. It looks tailored, it fits well with [name_m]Jack[/name_m] for length, and it isn’t trying too hard.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] to me has a harsh nasal sound and an ugly image. Aw-dree. Grating. I do like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn, but I always thought [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] was the one with the better name. I’m hearing it on a lot of babies so obviously many people don’t hear [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] like I do, but if I were looking for a Hepburn shout-out, I’d go immediately to the far less on-trend [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], though I think 3 syllables is too long for your sibset.

Since both [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] have never been off The Top Thousand list, I don’t get the argument that [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is classic as if [name_f]Iris[/name_f] isn’t?

Definitely [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] goes great with [name_m]Jack[/name_m].

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] be a bazillion! I really can’t stand [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I know most people associate it with the beautiful flower, but I just think of the iris of your eye. :x

Audrey, it sounds so young and spunky to me. I’ve never met anyone over 20 with the name. For Iris, 2 of my grandmother’s friends have that name so I personally see it as an older name, not that there is anything bad with that. I just can’t picture it on a little girl.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] all the way! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] doesn’t even compare, imo.

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! It’s so beautiful and elegant and spunky. I love how it ends in y and doesn’t sound like a nickname. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] sound wonderful together! [name_f]Iris[/name_f] sounds like an old lady’s name to me. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is so sweet

[name_m]Both[/name_m] fabulous! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] has the sophistication of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn, but I think it’s a bit popular right now. I would go with [name_f]Iris[/name_f]–gorgeous, underused, lovely meaning… I would love to meet a little [name_f]Iris[/name_f]!

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a little boring to me and most Aubreys or Audreys I know are always correcting people of which is their name. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] on the other hand is much more unique and spunky sounding.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f], definitely! Dainty, smart and dignified like few flower names can be.

I am not a big fan of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].

Definitely [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! Classy, elegant, and has a modern sound but thousands of history behind it. There’s a fun [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] character named [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and how many girls would love to share a name with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn? [name_f]Iris[/name_f] feels so crinkly and pokey, especially compared with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. It has a warmth and class that I don’t feel with [name_f]Iris[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! Not a fan of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], it sounds like a surname and is not particularly feminine.
