I also went off basically everything sweet (very unusual for me!). Fingers crossed for a not too unpleasant but reassuringly symptomatic first trimester (and whole pregnancy) for you!
If it helps, I didnāt really have any symptoms til morning sickness kicked in at 8 weeks (before that it was really only feeling tired more than usual). I know itās hard, but try not to stress. Pregnancy symptoms are different for everyone. Some people have almost none and still have healthy pregnancies. Good luck on your journey!
Your symptoms and food preferences sound similar to mine!
Overall my pregnancy has been very light on symptoms but so far things are going good and baby seems healthy and active in there. I get the feeling though. So many folks have very significant symptoms and we see that in media too- rarely will a show or movie depict a no symptom pregnancy because how could we possibly infer a character is expecting if they arenāt vomiting their guts out, crying and raging, and eating like a madman?
[name_f]My[/name_f] first appointment went well today! Ended up just going to a local clinic instead of my OBGYN but Iāll see them starting 13 weeks on 8/1 unless we decide another course of action.
[name_f]Baby[/name_f] has its yolk sac, a well-rounded chamber, and a steady 145 heartrate. Itās measuring 7 weeks exactly so my EDD is 2/6/25 like I calculated still nervous but reassured. Seeing it and hearing that a working heart has been growing in me these last weeks is so surreal.
We have decided to do Sneak Peek at 11 weeks as weāve read the later you do it, the more accurate it tends to be (as long as you control for no male DNA contamination).
Hoping these next few weeks pass uneventfully and baby stays snug and safe and thriving.
Iām in the jan 2024 club but wanted to wish you good luck & congratulations and to everyone who joins this time around
@cms1512 jumping into this thread to assure that not having many/any pregnancy symptoms isnāt a bad thing! The only real early pregnancy symptoms I had before 9 weeks was my missed period, frequent bathroom trips, and occasional food craving/aversion (aversion was more common for me). My fatigue & nausea didnāt hit until around 11 weeks, and even that was very mild with only a few instances. And baby is currently healthy and growing!
Also the SneakPeek is incredibly accurate as long as you control for no male contamination. We did it with the idea that if we got a boy result weād take it with a grain of salt bc of cross contamination results, and if a girl result came back weād take it as fact. We ended up with a baby girl result, so weāll see if that holds true at upcoming appointments.
Hello ladies my due date will be in February sometime. I just wanted to suggest a few resources that REALLY helped me my first pregnancy!
-Mama Natural pregnancy book is beautiful, modern, crunchy, and wonderful!
-Flo pregnancy app has a lot of good info and is the best app for pregnancy imo. The forums are amazing.
-Red Raspberry Leaf Tea (3rd trimester only!) I SWEAR it made my labor sooo quick the nurses were shocked
-Youtube > birth classes
-Infant CPR & First Aid was the only class hubby and I both took before baby and it gave me so much peace of mind. Why should we mandate child care workers to be certified and educated and then itās not even recommended for parents?? Crazy.
Congratulations to you all!
Thanks for these tips! And to repeat what someone else said, everyone seems to have a diff experience. Some people donāt have morning sickness.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] checking in- Iām approaching 9 weeks. I did go on the boat ride during week 8 for my sisters [name_m]Bach[/name_m] (wasnāt ready to tell anyone yet still so that was a challenge). I didnāt get that nauseous (mainly I believe because Iāve been seeing an acupuncturist whoās been helping me with how I handle hCg)ā¦. But I did get pretty dizzy. Boat barely was rocky but it was on the ocean for 1.5hrs which was enough to throw me off. Usually fine with motion sickness or boats. I feel like it took a couple days to subside and a PT visit (who I have seen for vertigo like symptoms so yea I am more susceptible to these kind of symptoms but wow I was so fickle)!
The heat (north east person here) has been TERRIBLE! And I canāt handle it very well. I like running outside but even walking is like omg. So Iām forcing myself to go to the gym but what I can do lately is bleak. I did workout a good amount before I was pregnant. Trying to just meet myself where Iām at each day and stay safe and healthy! Food aversions intense this week.
First ultrasound is next week!
OB gave me some morning sickness tips:
- eat dry snacks in AM
- donāt have your stomach be too full or empty
Those were the 2 that have helped me the most! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] thoughts to everyone!
I feel you on the food aversions! [name_f]My[/name_f] two most noticeable symptoms right now are heightened sense of smell and food aversions, which go hand in hand with each other for me. Idk why but bread smells like alcohol to me now and I canāt eat it, which is so random! Did not experience this with my first. And iām only 5 weeks. Plus I crave alfredo sauce and bell peppers desperately so I eat bell peppers for lunch and alfredo for dinner lol
Had a second ultrasound this week and measured 9w1d but thought I would turn 9w on [name_m]Thursday[/name_m] so baby seems to be a bit ahead! [name_m]Strong[/name_m] HR of 170. Very thankful for a good scan. She showed us the umbilical cord that has been forming!
We will slowly be telling close family/friends this week now that this scan went well so Iām a bit nervous about that. [name_f]My[/name_f] MIL has a history of making things about her and I kinda donāt want to have to deal with itā¦weāll see.
Congrats to all of you! Iām just over 9 weeks and my estimated due date will be Feb 4th, 2025. We got to see baby strawberry on ultrasound for the second time this week! They were wiggling and the heartbeat was in the 170s, so all looks good so far. We go for the NIPT blood draw next week
Sent in our Sneak Peek today at exactly 10 weeks! I showered, sanitized my sink area twice, washed my hands about 4x, and followed the instructions so fingers crossed if itās a boy result itās not a false positive. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband was at work and we have his and hers sinks in our new place so Iām hoping there is very little room for contamination because weāll likely be having the gender reveal based on the results.
Fingers crossed! We should know sometime next week!
Anyone wanna guess or tell me what vibes you get from me?
How exciting!!! I think it could go either way, but my gut is getting a little girl for you
Alllll of my friends that know are saying girl except 1 so weāll see!
Saw baby for the first time today, saw and heard their heartbeat Iām 7 weeks 4 days today. Due date is 2/27 but I will most likely have baby closer to 2/6 due to my history.
On another note, I have been diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum and it is completely debilitating which is why I havenāt been on NB lately. Hopefully the prescription my dr gave me helps! So hard to be positive when I feel so so sickā¦ Iāve lost 11 pounds in 9 days.
@aylacoggins [name_m]Just[/name_m] popping in to say Iām so sorry that HG is making you feel awful and lose so much weight. I hope the medication helps and you are able to enjoy at least some of your pregnancy!
Our NIPT came back clear and baby strawberry is aā¦ā¦ GIRL!!!
Iām actually really surprised. I thought for sure it was going to say weāre having a boy. We even had our boys name list narrowed down to 3! Now itās back to the drawing board for girl names (in the best way!)
Wow! Congratulations! Weāre awaiting our Sneak Peek results!
I also apologize for not adding you sooner. For some reason, I didnāt see the due date in your last post so I wasnāt sure when to add you in.
[name_m]Welcome[/name_m] and congrats on baby girl! Excited to hear name options if youāre sharing!
BERRIES
Sneak Peek says BOY
Aww congratulations on baby BOY!
